TEHRAN (FNA)- A new satellite launch center whose construction will finish in the near future has been named after the Late Founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi announced on Saturday.

Vahidi added that the base will send a new generation of home-made satellites as well as the satellites made by the regional and Muslim countries into orbit in the near future.

"In a first move" Vahidi stated "the Imam Khomeini Space Center will send Tolou (Dawn) satellite into orbit on the back of Simorgh satellite carrier."

Senior Iranian space officials had earlier announced construction of a national center for satellite launch.

The Islamic republic, which first put a satellite into orbit in 2009, has outlined an ambitious space program and has, thus far, made giant progress in the field despite western sanctions and pressures against its advancements.

Very nice.
Two questions -
1. Will the satellite open for the Pershians the possibility to see many new westwern TV channels  or is it just for spy purpose ?
2. Iran is called "the Islamic republic", why can't Israel be called "the Jewish state" ?
Best Regards to the soon to be free tehran people.

1. No, it won't be open, the same as west satellites which are closed for Europeans to see our channels.
2. Israel can't be called" the Jewish state" because in fact it is not a state, it is an illegal regime.
Hoping to see Palestinians are living in their mother land.

Absolutely not. Even Russia refused to launch our satellite to space because of west squeeze. It will save our money and we will launch friend countries satellites cheaper than others.

First I do not think you are relaying <HONEST> Information....

You say Israel is Illegal.............................. Soooooooooooooooooooo I also think then, that Cyrus was reigning on an Illegal Entity called Persia... since he conquered my <Jewish Country> at the time

Now coming back to your so called Persian Satellite... my friend your country cannot even manufacture shoes for your people and you want to pretend you have a satellite... In your place I would be thankful to the North Koreans that supplied you with all these toys... for once North Korea is out of the picture you will be eating each other in Persia.

Israel illegal??????????????????????? Whomever told you so is obfuscating the truth.!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saudi Arabia Declares Iranian Link to Espionage Cell
Interior ministry's official announcement follows results of preliminary
investigations

~Badr Al-Qahtani and Huda Al-Saleh Asharq Al-Awsat

Riyadh, Asharq Al-Awsat—Yesterday, Saudi Arabia officially declared a link
between the defendants accused of operating in an espionage cell, which was
revealed last week, and the Iranian intelligence apparatus, citing
preliminary investigations conducted by the Saudi security services. Major
General Mansour Al-Turki, security spokesman for the interior ministry, said
in a statement obtained by Asharq Al-Awsat: “The preliminary investigations,
the physical evidence that has been collected, and the statements made by
the defendants in this case reveal direct links between the cell and the
Iranian intelligence service.”

News agencies had carried comments from the Iranian foreign ministry earlier
this week, denying any link to those accused of spying inside Saudi Arabia,
although at the time Riyadh had not named Iran officially.

Turki added, “These elements received financial sums, at regular intervals,
in exchange for information and documents about important sites, as part of
an espionage operation for the Iranian intelligence apparatus.” He added
that investigations with the members of the cell were still ongoing.

In response to a question posed by Asharq Al-Awsat about whether Riyadh will
take any political steps as a result, Turki replied, “We in the security
services are tasked with, and responsible for, uncovering cases such as
these. Because this is an espionage case, we are handling the investigative
procedures only.”

“As for political procedures, these will be determined by the Saudi
leadership, and we cannot say anything for certain about future political
steps.”

Meanwhile, Asharq Al-Awsat has learned that from well-informed sources that
the Iranian ambassador to Saudi Arabia has returned to Tehran for unknown
reasons, with the Iranian embassy in Riyadh declining to comment.

For his part, Dr. Abdullah Al-Askar, chairman of the foreign affairs
committee in the Saudi Shura Council, called for the documenting evidence to
be published, telling Asharq Al-Awsat that “it is irrefutable, according to
the interior ministry statement.” Dr Al-Askar stressed the need for Iran to
know that “our unity is a red line. We respect the Iranian people, who are
innocent in this regard, but their government is trying to spread corruption
and sedition.”

On the subject of Saudi-Iranian relations, Dr. Asaad Al-Shamlan, director of
the European studies center at the Institute of Diplomatic Studies in
Riyadh, told Asharq Al-Awsat, “Relations now are in a worse state than they
were in the 1990s”.

Dr Shamlan also touched upon the evolving nature of espionage in the 21st
century, explaining, “The world of espionage today consists of operations
that extend far military follow-up on the ground. For example, cyber warfare
is perhaps the main threat and challenge, and what happened with Aramco
(with the oil company’s computer systems being struck by a virus in August
2012) raises a lot of question marks about who is behind this work.”

“In general, sabotage has become far more possible through cyber warfare . .
. This is not limited to military institutions or other traditional
targets.”

First 1000 , 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000,... years ago different people and races lived in different places, had their countries and tribe, lived in peace or war, some of them stayed in their land some of them migrated and some of them were destroyed or mixed with other races. Now you can't occupy other land because you think that land belong to your ancestors 2000 or 3000 years ago ( Although I don't agree with this claim). If the other races and people had thought like you Zionists, the human races would have been destroyed many years ago.
But about your childish comment about Iranians abilities in technology I don't want to waste my time for it. The important thing is we make everything we claim.

For manned flights :
“The plan for sending and returning humans to and from the space will be carried out by the next four years and the plan for sending a human being into the space and putting him into the earth’s orbit will be launched in the next 10 years,”

And don't forget we are doing this in the worst sanction condition and lonely without any other country help.

The ESA has generally operated outside political norms, but I'm sure things will get back to normal one day, and we can get on with figuring out how the universe ticks

I didn't say all west satellites are closed for Persian channels but they closed and are closing some of them, especially the news and political channels, and you can't deny it. If you can see 2 Iranian channels I can see 2000 West channels.
