In the 1980's, local TV stations began airing daily reports on crime, whether it was DUI's, murder, theft, burlary, or assault. These reports used to be in the police blotter of the local newspaper. Eventually, the local people believed that there was an influx of crime because of the TV reports. In later years, the FBI and other law enforcement agencies examined the reports and found that there was no new crime wave or influx of crime.

the point is that looking at media, whether visual or audio, traditional or nontraditional, does not suggest what the true picture of crime is. Again, look at the crime reports and statistical analysis to see what the actual truth is. You will be surprised.

 

Hmm..., I'd say we had three Trayvon Martin's in the making here. I'm sure that these three will be in the news within the near future.

corporations in the usa paid an average effective tax rate of 12.6%

that's much lower than most other countries
