The left only have themselves to thank for putting Trump in office. They have systematically made their coalition of patchwork
ethnic, gay and racial groups their focus to the exclusion of middle class families. And who do they run against Trump? Probably the only politician in America more polarizing than him.

In the election Trump invoked an America that was great again and worked for all. Hillary had nothing like it to counter. Nothing at all.

That speaks well for you. I am only a Trump supporter to the degree that he was not Hillary Clinton. I've been pleasantly surprised and angered by Trump so far.

Maybe North Korea is funding gun control efforts?

Beating and torturing people until they're mindless military drones is brainwashing. If North Korea did it, you would never shut up about how evil it is. But you have a blind spot for the shadow totalitarianism of your own homeland.

Jim Jones managed to make people not just die, but choose death and thank him for it, and he did it with nothing but isolation, exhaustion, and beatings. If The People's Temple was brainwashing, so is the military.

Why would his approval go down now when minority unemployment has dropped so low?
Black Americans are a harder sell for Trump, but jobs matter to them too.

“Trump's numbers improved with Asian American voters surveyed; Trump's approval stands at 43% approve and 55% who disapprove. This was also the case with Hispanics voters and their overall numbers; Trump saw one the biggest improvements among any sub-group with Hispanics; his approval increased 11% to 42% approval versus 55% who disapprove of Trump's job as president.”
ZOGBY ANALYTICS,Trump approval at 45%; Support among Hispanics, western and union voters jumps double digits, Written by Zogby, 8/11/17.

    You must be a democrat.
Now I understand your warped viewpoint, and why you didn't like my proposal of confiscating all democrats' weapons.
Dems are the ones who threaten and punish anyone who disagrees with them. Yet they proclaim they are the benevolent ones.
    In reality, we know different.

Would like to respond but it would be thread drift and don't want to be accused and infracted for thread derailment.

The topic has been touched upon before down on the PF military forum.

I've done about a half dozen of these so far too, its disturbing to see people rationalize these things.

It is ridiculous to bring North Korea into this discussion. Developed, modern, democratic countries around the world have strict gun control and NO SCHOOL SHOOTINGS.

How is that a straw man?

If the motivation for restricting or limiting access to weapons is to reduce the number of mass shootings, it's a fair question to ask of there are any guarantees.

Unless of course the motivation was never about actually eliminating mass shootings.

And there are heaps of nations without restrictions with no school shootings. The issue is a cultural one.

So what would be the difference if assault rifles were made to be illegal.

Prisons like we have today? I agree. But some people are too dangerous to be allowed to run loose in society.
Haven't been following CA politics closely since I moved away. At least 2/3 of voters are low information everywhere, so there's nothing unique going on in the Sunshine State.

As has been pointed out before it's better to be 'poor' in the US than many other countries of the world because 'poor' is often relative.

However one of the ways many Americans are being kept poor is because many of the lower paying jobs, usually entry level jobs in the workforce, is being taken over by cheap illegal labor. This isn't happening as often with countries with secure borders.

I think Democrats are fixing to once again embrace middle-income whites. For one, the party isn't pushing the idea of a minority or female candidate for high office. Trump would have a much harder time running against a 50-something white male.
Trump is selling snake oil. Corporation tax cuts are needed, but Trump's personal tax cuts for rich people and cuts to entitlements underpining the middle class make him a fraud. He hasn't put forward policies that will increase economic growth over and above a short-term hit from his Keynesian tax cuts.

We need to increase R&D, infrastructure investment, and worker training, some of each public spending and the rest private spending we will in some measure have to encourage by tax incentives. Trump isn't pushing in these areas.

We also need economic reforms that force big corporations to compete. In that area, Trump serms to be going the other way.

No, I'm a conservative who doesn't drink free Kool-Aid served up by bloviating rich fat people.
No, you don't. Democrats don't want to ban handguns either. You "proposal" is dumb.

We? You and the other brainiacs with your heads stuck in the Open Mouth AM Radio Echo Chamber?

President Bone Spurs wants to cut Medicare and Social Security to pay for his personal tax cuts for people making $500,000 per year. The coporation tax cuts (which were needed) wasn't enough for them. I'm a senior and don't take Social Security or Medicare benefits, so what do I care? Hope you don't need them.

Have another glass from Kool-Aid from the Fat Guy.

Well now, there is a new video out showing the shooter fighting with someone over a girl just before he got suspended.

That's it folks. All we need to do is ban girls now.

Where has it been pointed out? I suspect when you factor in all the social programs this is not true in the OECD. If you compare the US to the third world than it will be but that is comparing lemons to iron.

They would have to redefine the word Assault once again so we could all keep our Semi-auto rifles, wanna bet ;)

Not going to happen because then the gangs in the ghetto would have to give all their AK's, 9's and old mac-10 up, we cant have that!

My motivation is to remove at least some of the weapons from the hands of felons, gang bangers, nutballs, children, and senile old folks. It might cut down on some of the mass shootings, and it would cut down on some of the killing.

You make absolutely no sense. You are in denial.
Gun control is a HUGE issue supported by the DEMOCRATS.

The wall thing is BS because half of all illegals came through the front door and overstayed a visa. If we don't have an effective e-verify system where illegals can't find work, even as domestics or casual farm labor, the problem won't go away. I would gladly trade amnesty for those here now for an real e-verify system that includes penalties for anyone hiring illegals.

Family reunification? Sons, daughters, husbands, wives, but not not mom, dad, aunts, uncles, cousins, gradparents, etc. First come, first serve? No, a points system.

When I hear business squeal about not having enough workers, then I'll know the proposal is on the right track. So far, no squealing.
