Indeed, it seems that this tea party group has sought and achieved validation.

Many would think that important issues that do not promote healthy lives would be on the top of their list, but certainly not in Florida. In Florida, this tea party has fought long hours not against taxation, over regulation, a return to constitutional values, but rather focused their rage at what is important, ensuring that the youth of today do not get fluoridated water on their teeth.

Yes, it seems that fighting tooth decay is indeed representative of an invasive government shoving these helpful chemicals in minute amounts that promote a healthier mouth onto the hapless citizens who managed to live for generations with improved teeth. Nothing says Constitution to me like a big ol' cavity in a kid.

Bravo tea party. You have done impressed me on this one.

The fluoride ban in Florida is equvalent to the kite ban in Afghanistan. As it turns out, the so-called Tea Party is America's "Taliban". The Afghans already had rotten teeth so the Talaban (the Afghan Tea Party) moved on to far more important legislation: They outlawed kite flying! Eventually, American intervention took down the Taliban and Afghans now fly kites without fear of punishment. The Tea party may not like it but Afghans have now returned to kite flying with a vengeance. Americans too will return with a vengeance!

On a side note it is believed from studies done in the 40-50's that high use of fluoride makes the population more easily handled complacent and willing to go along, without resistance or utilizing critical thinking to understand how their government manipulates them.

But I'm sure it will be OK.

Watch this amazing video showing just how dangerous fluoride is to your teeth, brain, bones, and organs within your body! Hitler used sodium fluoride to control the German nation. It destroys the rear occipital of the left lobe of the brain which is responsible for the individual’s power to resist domination. Minute amounts of sodium fluoride will reduce the i...ndividual’s power to resist domination Some Antidepressants are made of sodium fluoride. Is this what is happening to our America? Is this why people don't stand up for their RIGHTS anymore???

Lefties......apparently, without nanny government to take care of them, their teeth would rot out, they'd all be obese, have diabetes and heart disease....

and never see a doctor or dentist unless someone else paid for it.

The thread is in humor and satire. I think that perhaps you are talking this far too seriously.

No, it simply was not amusing. It was hyper defensive, insanely partisan, and smelled of really bad conspiracy theory.

Ironically, it is a political forum, so even in the humor section, insane partisanship would seem to be prerequisite, and encouraged.

Ironically, the creator of the OP....an obviously partisan... now "humorous"... slam on the Tea Party.... complains about "insane partisanship" when met with similar "humor".

And somehow expects to be taken seriously.

It was not similar humor. It was vastly inferior humor that utterly failed to note the irony of the situation and parody something. It lacked any form of creativity and instead relied on the right wing group think echo chamber reflexive outrage crowd. It failed utterly to evoke any amusement.

Rather than simply use a bit of self deprecating humor and giggle a bit at the silliness of this issue, your insecurities sought some sort of justification due to the sheer number of times your posts are incorrect here. In doing this you tried to shift the blame for the intellectual failings of this idiotic group in Florida and instead claim that "lefties are for squibly dabbly doo doo dog (*)(*)(*)(*)".

There was no humor to your post. It was the mewling of the defeated.

I don't expect you to take me seriously. I expect you to denigrate me and insult me. I expect the consistent failings of your posts to manifest as intellectual jealousy. It makes it much easier to accept your defeats when you attempt to convince yourself, falsely, that I am somehow inferior. It seems to be the standard fare for the crowd with which you run.

How much do I owe you for that "hyper defensive" critique and psychoanalysis?

Have your people get with my people, and we'll settle up, mkay? :fart:

"The Case against Fluoride". The science supporting the efficacy of fluoridation is not quite as concrete as you might think. Many countries do not support the practice and the cavity rate is similar to the ones that do.

The basis of the challenge is first, that deliberately inserting a chemical into the water that is classified as a drug requires a greater level of proof of effectiveness. Second, only 10 % of public water companies use sodium fluoride. The vast majority use a waste byproduct of the fertilizer company. Third, the mechanism of action has allegedly been proven as topical and not systemic (i.e. swallowing fluoride does not help). Last, only 0.5 % of water is actually consumed by a person. The rest is used to water lawns, shower and wash dishes.

I acknowledge that in poor communities with low education even the inadvertent contact with the teeth might help so I'm neutral with regard to fluoridation.

Flouride was used as a form of mass crowd control in Nazi German and the Soviet Union. It is a poison to the human body, makes people docile and more easily manipulated, and in large enough quantities and long enough exposure will cause brain and other organ damage. There is no reason to believe that it being put in our water to promote dental health. That is a lie.

The "truth" is so refreshing! People everywhere need to know that every dental scientist, professor and practitioner in the World is a member of a mass fluoride conspiracy orchestrated by aliens to take over the earth! And by the way, tea (as in Tea Party) has the same effect as fluoride! Tea needs to be banned by law, now!

LOL!!! That might make sense if dental scientists, professors, and practitioners were responsible for putting fluoride in the water supply. Go ahead and find one dental scientist, professor, and/or practitioner that states putting flouride in our drinking water promotes dental health.

    Silly sock puppet...

Don't worry, big brother knows best. Don't listen to those medical professionals. They're just afraid of aliens and good teeth...

HOMERJAY SAID: "Go ahead and find one dental scientist, professor, and/or practitioner that states putting fluoride in our drinking water promotes dental health."

:-D My personal dentist says, "fluoridation promotes dental health". He's a member of the American Dental Association (ADA) which also supports fluoridation. As a point of fact, Fluoride is an element that occurs naturally in water (and nearly everything else on Earth)! Although it helps prevent tooth decay, fluoride is not considered essential for dental health. But of course, no one ever said fluoride was "essential". They only said it "helps", a lot!

Unfortunately, Fluoride is not a man-made element. If it was, it would be an expensive product and the "Fluoride Corporation of America" (with Tea party support) would be out to make it required by law because that would "create jobs". No one has yet explained how the Tea party came to so strongly support "job creation" but stands so firmly opposed to "dental health". Fortunately, numerous other groups do support fluoridation. For example, see:

If your teeth are so bad that you need fluoride in the drinking water to help, than there is no help for you.

I'm relieved, TFM. I hadn't realized what forum this was in and I was surprised you'd be in favor of adding an industry's toxic waste to the water supply.

Oh, I understood it. It was just really, really bad.

Please remember you are in the humor section. Try not to make an argument out of everything, and lose in the process.
