I keep seeing all this hostility about Trump and really don't understand it. When I think of Trump's first four years I think of cheaper gas, lower inflation, no new wars, more secure borders, lower taxes, the Abraham Accords, Solimini's elimination, the capture of ISIS' largest city (Mosul) and their capital city (Raqqa), and no disasters like Biden's skedaddle from Afghanistan (arming the Taliban on the way out),

If I want moral guidance, I'll call a priest. If I want my family to be safe and prosperous I'll call Trump.

    Why all the hostility?

I live in a blue state. Dems win my state by quite a lot. That being said…show me a presidential election where a candidate won a state by one vote.

I agree. I'd rather hear what a political party and/or candidate is for rather than what they're against.

That's a fine can of worms you just cracked open there, and one could point to a variety of reasons.

I think the primary "big picture" reason why a lot of Lefties hate Trump is because he deprived them of the only thing they truly care about - power. It's important to keep in mind that we're not talking about a bunch of libertarians here - without the coercive power of the State the Left is powerless to impose its agenda on people and control their lives in accordance with their agenda.

On a "smaller" tactical scale, one could say it's Pure Alinksy. If you read the Original Community Organizer's Rules for Radicals, these two points immediately stand out:

RULE 9: “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.”
Imagination and ego can dream up many more consequences than any activist.

RULE 13: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”
Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.

Of course, they do that to all their opponents.

Sure, there's a lot not to like about the man - personally, I've never been terribly fond of New Yorkers, they're loud, obnoxious spazzes, which is the antithesis to what a lot of people down here in the South are. Furthermore, he clearly doesn't possess a towering intellect like John Quincy Adams and he's not a great orator like Patrick Henry and in a political sense he is all too often a bumbling oaf who doesn't know when to hold his punches. It's rather amusing that Biden's supporters hold this against their orange bête noire while conveniently (and hypocritically) overlooking their own Dear Leader's glaring inadequacies in these departments (along with his vapid senility). What's arguably even more amusing is the irrational characterization of the man as evil - only a person who has never encountered the real evil that exists in the world could make such a claim. I won't be voting for Trump in November because I'm not a social conservative and I don't agree with a lot of his and his party's policy positions, but you won't see me losing my mind over him. As you pointed out, on policy his administration was far superior to Biden's, and the rest of the stuff is pretty much a wash. Obviously, nbobody is obligated to like the man, but the unhinged and unbridled hatred many progs have for him says more about them than the Canteloupe Caligula.

I wasn't refuting that, my point was on a principle, not the actual physical choices.

The principle being that if you don't vote for Biden, you help Trump, for the stated reason.

The 'binary' is true insofar as that point. You are pettifogging that argument.

I understand your point, but you do have to admit that the entire 2000 election being decided by a few hundred votes was shockingly close.

But if you don't vote for Trump or biting you help them both and it cancels out.

Don't be mad because your party ran someone that's terrible.
