You impugned the collective honor and integrity of the military in the OP. You based this upon the estimate provided by Pannetta. I have shown you that women in the military are actually much less likely to be the victim of a sexual assault than women in the civilian world and on college campuses. In other words, your position is completely without merit.

Yes, because not only is the offender guilty in these cases, but the whole chain of command is as well. It's pathetic and unacceptable; perhaps we should admit that military members are just human beings, with all the foibles that the rest of the civilian world possesses. They're no better or worse than anyone else.

He didn't say any of that. Not according to the article you linked, anyway.

I've always admitted that and I don't think you'll find many people who disagree. However, that doesn't change the fact that your position is totally without merit. You have zero evidence (aside from a few anecdotes) that the military's problem with sexual assault is any worse than in the civilian world. In fact, it's much less prevalent in the military.

You are right they are no better or worse... but they are selfless, and that is honorable, and that is the point.

hmm. Maybe if you're talking about lower IQ, less serious drunken frat guys that BARELY COUNT as "college students", yeah maybe. If you're talking about people that are going into engineering, sciences, math etc. and are serious about school, (*)(*)(*)(*) to the (*)(*)(*)(*)ing no there are not going to be many (*)(*)(*)(*)ing RAPISTS running around.

Besides, in college there are MORE women than men. In the military there are many less women than men, and as far as I know the men and women are often separated in the military anyways. They get less of a chance to be able to rape women in the military.

But, hey. Keep your absurd biases. Next time you see a serious engineering/medical etc. graduate getting a job, just make sure to go up and tell him he's more likely to rape your daughter than the tatted up anger management-seeking army guy. :puke:

Yes, math/physics/chemistry/biology professors who instill advanced knowledge/education in people necessary to do very unproductive work such as engineering, genetic research, drug research, materials science, chemical engineering, computer engineering etc. are evil. I agree?

Edit: Now, public education is a (*)(*)(*)(*)ing scam anymore due to artificially bloated prices via government forcing taxpayers to fund it, when it should be more privatized and less artificially expensive/non-competitive. I agree completely with that. Don't mistake me for a public sector loving liberal cause I aint one.

Yes, because selfless people rape each other.

Wow, now you are just acting like a petulant child, making absurd generalizations and ignoring the evidence. Maybe you should take a break from the Internet, old timer, because you're becoming more and more irrational by the day. Find something better to do.

Well people who go to college such as obviously those professors did, are more likely to rape people, as I understand it.

Then again I CAN see some of the creepy professors I've had raping people......

He says, "they (all of them) are selfless and honorable," ignoring the fact that it's been demonstrated that not only are many of them not due to sexually assaulting other individuals, but also the chain of command that is complicit with sweeping the assaults under the rug.

Ergo, he's wrong; "they" are not all selfless and honorable.

You have no evidence to support your position. Let us know when that changes.

You're the one who framed the argument in the context of a generalization. We're merely reciprocating. If you don't want to deal with generalizations, then don't engage in them yourself.

What's my position? The fact that you can't state it concisely means you don't know what it is, hence the pathetic strawmen.

I say your source must be horse(*)(*)(*)(*). Figures like this aren't even statistics, they're estimations. Guesses. So you found someone who GUESSED those figures. Good job. I GUESS you hate the military, and would call me a baby-killer. A Pirate. A murderer. A rapist. And I GUESS you're not worth any more of my time.

I think I acted in an honorable way and my son is now doing the same in the military. That's all that matters to me. You think what you want.
