Franklin Graham Warns Church: Progressive Christianity 'Can Send a Person to Hell'

“It has nothing to do with the Gospel of Christ’s death, burial and resurrection,” he writes. “It results in nothing but spiritual confusion and chaos.”

Progressive Christianity “frequently fails to see the ruinous consequences of mankind’s depraved, sinful state,” he says.

“Biblical teaching on the precious blood of Christ, the sacrificial, substitutionary, atoning work of Christ’s death on the cross, is too often neglected or distorted,” Graham writes. “... There’s certainly nothing very forward-thinking about progressive Christianity. It actually regresses into unbiblical thinking and living, and it will put a person’s very soul in eternal jeopardy.”

Graham quotes Galatians 1:6-9, where Paul writes, in part, “I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel – which is really no gospel at all. Evidently, some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.”

Pastors, Graham writes, must preach the whole gospel “if they want their congregants to be convicted of their sin and to trust solely in the blood of Christ for the forgiveness.”

“Evangelicals need to guard the truth of genuine Scriptural preaching and living, remaining true and bold about exactly what the Bible clearly teaches,” he writes. “There is no other way to be saved and secured for all eternity.”…

Franklin Graham is exactly right! Progressive Christianity is a poor substitute for the real thing. We must not let mankind’s perversion of and Satan’s substituting for Gods Holy truth.

Sectioning Christianity off from Democrats and the left wing turns it into politics and rejecting Christ is reduced to an act of rejecting trump or Hillary.

I don't think it's a good idea. Principals of Christianity are universal they can apply to progressives and conservatives and everything else in between.

This is where the idea that atheism is more intelligent comes from.

So I'd ask to stop making Christ exclusive. Christ said there was only one sin for which he would turn his back on you for.

 

No one here is sectioning off Christianity from Democrats or even liberals. Both can be and many are believing faithful Christians. It’s the progressiveism that borders with secular that tries to compromise Christianity with a secular outlook that is the issue here

 

Trying to section it off from progressives is just as bad.

God so loved the world, that means yes even progressives, that he gave his only son.

The only thing we should be doing is reminding ourselves of what is worldly and what is devine.

There is no need to further divide.

This is one of the things within Christianity that really should stop.

What free Christians need to do when somebody wants to be part of it is welcome them as our brothers and sisters that's our job it's not sanctioning it and building walls around it.

Further it's not our place to dictate to others what is or isn't Christianity. Everyone of us the most highest among Us all fall short of the grace of God.

I'm just telling you this to let you know not all Christians are like that. And if you want to walk with Christ there should be no person telling you you're not good enough Christ said you were good enough.

Probably depends what type of Progressive Christianity.

If it denies the inherent sinful nature of humanity and the need for a saviour, that is not a good starting point.
