His apparent shift on the so-called "golden rule" -- which the Socialist Party had so far flatly rejected -- came after French and German leaders announced on Tuesday that all euro zone countries would be asked to vote on adopting such a rule by mid-2012.
The writing is so bad I can hardly make sense of this report. I think what they are trying to tell us is that the French socialists may oppose the idea of a balanced budget. If so then I can only say that socialists in the mother country are just as stupid as their children here in America. We need a balanced budget amendment to force the politicians to live within their means.
