I would caution anyone from even using the phrase "fake news". The debate should be about who's actually delivering the TRUTH, not about what one one side or another can spin as being "fake". I mean, just think about how ambiguous the word "fake" is. It's a very subjective word & having a debate over something that wide open to individual perception isn't beneficial. What we should be debating is fact & honestly reporting the facts, period. Wading into to a debate about "fake news" is a futile effort.
My favorite msm/liberal fake news story was when NBC did a show on evil corporations and the "unsafe" Ford pickups that exploded randomly. In the news segment, they kept trying to get the pickup to catch fire, but it wouldn't happen. Finally, the NBC news producer planted a bomb on the truck and blew it up. "There! See how unsafe these trucks are!"
I don't think so. Particularly since as a phrase, "fake news" didn't even really exist a month ago. Something happened, I'm not sure what , to have all networks and newspapers simultaneously decide to do stories on "fake news" and it's dangerous threat to democracy. I think since the phrase "fake news" was concocted, it's perfectly acceptable to turn it around and aim it at the outlets which made up both the phrase and the concept.

It's been a rough morning. My helicopter got shot down, and then we had to hide from sniper fire at the airport while our emails got hacked by the Russians. But no worries, it was all caused by a YouTube video marked classified on my illegal private server. Later today I have to testify, so I'm waiting for a list of the questions from Donna Brazile and then CNN wants me to approve (or edit) the story before it airs. Some people might doubt my story, but everything is already in play so at this point, what difference would it make? The real news died when Cronkite retired.
