    How are they are republic? Power is passed from father to son. That's a monarchy.

    They're self proclaimed i guess. I mean they're about as much of a communist country as they are a republic. They've always been a monarchy since kim il sung took power nothing has changed how do you think kim jong il became the supreme ruler? His father died.
