Considering that 50% of the potential voters are freeloaders who pay no income tax but receive most of the government welfare money it's not surprising when the party that wants to cut government spending is doing badly in the polls.

I do cry since I know that without a sane spending policy America will end up like Greece, only worse.

When America goes bust Obama voters will cry for their government check in the mail but it won't be there anymore.

When anyone tells you something you don't like to hear you dismiss it as a talking point.

The wipe-very-nose welfare state is unsustainable.

And sticking your head in the sand isn't going to change that.

MAC, with unemployment at 9.1%, underemployment at 16.2%, Gasoline hovering around $4 a gallon and food prices skyrocketing, the Democrats don't stand a chance in 2012 unless things SUBSTANTIALLY improve by then. That's why their vitriol has increased to a fever pitch. They know they are getting a LOT more of 2010 in 2012. It's when they become irrelevant again for a few decades.

We could see a clean sweep of both houses of congress and the White House.

Because the Republicans are not loved but rather that Obama is proving to be so incompetent.

The word is "sane", problem is none of the republicans are "sane".

If there arent any other candidates obama will get re-elected and the crisi will be over by that time.

If Obama is a shoe-in for re-election then you have nothing to worry about.

But I suspect that we both know better than that.

As much as you might hate the conception of 'freeloaders' the position that the US now finds itself is not going to change for the foreseeable future, whichever party is in power.

No government, in any western country can choose to ignore millions of unemployed people and cast them aside, unless that country is looking to foment civil disobedience. And in the case of the US, it's not as if 9m people choose not to work. In fact, that would apply to any country. Furthermore, the US is in a cycle that Europe also faces, that of new technologies which reduce work forces and increase profits, which is progress however one chooses to see the results.

It's a good policy for an opponent of the existing government (from whichever side they choose to support) to place blame by the bucketload on the existing regime.

There isn't an answer to failing economies, otherwise someone would have found it. Even in Canada, which through more governance of the banks avoided a sharp downturn in the economy, it isn't that safe because world events create fear and any prick that draws blood is a sign that all is not well.

You may well hope that a future Republican administration is going to change things, but it won't, untill politicians from all side choose to believe that the country's interest takes precedence above their own.
