To throw out that figure on a global commodity would require drastic interventionism and manipulation. I really don't think she has a plan for what it would take to halve the price of oil.

I think in June 2008, Crude Oil was $147 per barrel.

Today Crude Oil is $83 per barrel.

Why is Gasoline 100% higher when international crude oil price have fallen 50%?

Today Gasoline must be $2 per gallon because international crude oil price have fallen 50%.

 

Do not blame Obama as Bush is responsible for this. You may have heard that Obama's energy secretary Steven Chu said he wanted gas prices as high as Europe for America but this was just a gaf and not anything to do with real policy. Again i must repeat that this is all Bush's fault.

Considering that gas is technically cheaper now than it was under the Bush Administration (I remember $4.00/gallon being common) those days I think the thread is a fail.

I really doubt it. If you stopped printing money today, prices would simply stay roughly the same.....they wouldn't drop by half. You'd have to burn money in order to have this effect. And you'd have to do it dramatically.
