The problem with people trying to pull out statistics on this situation is that it's utterly unreliable. Rape statistics and all statistics dealing with sexual misconduct are unreliable.

Why? Because you're talking about something that a lot of perps successfully fight to keep themselves looking innocent. How many sexual misconduct cases go unreported? A statistic you can't even answer since a statistic relies on reports. And it becomes easier and easier to hide a crime the more resources one has. You might have a lot of money to use as "hush" money. You can murder and hide the body, and we the people are lucky if people even find you as a suspicious individual, otherwise you'll be overlooked. You can have family and friend support to help you hide your crime. It's something of real horror on how many times in pedophile cases, where the father is molesting the kids, the mother knows about it and keeps quiet, even in some cases becomes actively involved in enabling the father's habit.

So with all that in mind, the next time someone says something idiotic like "well, most pedophiles are gay" ask them what they base their opinion on, tell them about how unreliable their stupid statistics are.

 

Look, let's be honest here. Is the point you're trying to prove that homosexuals are more likely to molest children? Because if so, you shoot yourself in the foot with your own categorization. You intentionally conflating a sexual action with a sexual orientation. Here's the problem - how many men who molest boys identify as homosexual in adult relationships? For example, Jerry Sandusky - he was married for many years to his wife. Sexologists have determined that attraction to children is on a completely different scale than the attraction to adults normal people have. This is part of why we don't classify pedophiles as "homosexual" or "heterosexual" - because at that point it's a meaningless distinction.

No, no, no, no, no. Oversimplifying the issue is what gets us into this mess in the first place. This is not as simple as you say it is, regardless of how much you want to believe it so. Look, let me try to get this as simple as I can. We can all agree that there is a fundamental difference in orientation between someone who wants to have sex with adults and someone who wants to have sex with children, correct? Then taking that underclassification of orientation and subclassifying it into heterosexual and homosexual doesn't allow you to reach into the overclassification with those results, as we've already determined it to be fundamentally separate. Yes, say what you will about gay pedophiles, but keep in mind that every major psychological organization in the world disagrees with you and your classifications.
