A biological man. Identifies as a women. She is arrested for raping multiple women.

She is sentenced. She is to go to a female prison yes?

First thought. What do you do when it's a biological female who rapes multiple women?

But this is one of those things that says we should be looking at our overall housing to begin with. To go along with the first thought, a biological male who rapes multiple men. Do you put him in the same prison with other men?

Sure biological women can rape other women and these women will automatically go to a women's prison.

It's just not as prevalent and the rape culture doesn't exist in female prisons like it does in male prisons.

A LOT of rape goes on in male prisons there is a massive rape culture there.

It's almost unheard of (can happen though) in female prisons. Which personally points out to me the drive is somewhat linked to biology.

So back to my question. A serial rapists that was born a male but identies as female is highly likely to carry on raping and multiple women in prison.

It's more of a morality question... Protecting female prisoners from being rapped Vs denying this her gender identity.

Which is more important to you?

There are lots of sides to this coin. For example a biological male that rapes other males would automatically be sent to a make prison (regardless of the fact he is likely to participate in the rape culture that's so prevelent in make prisons ) it's a no brainer. Nobody blinks an eye or gives it a second thought.

So why should female prisoners be offered the more protection from rape then male prisons at the expense of denying the rapists gender identity.

    I totally get both sides.

Personally I edge towards protecting the women from being raped by this individual (highly likely) at the expense of denying her gender identity and putting her in a male prisons.

But I totally get the other side of the coin that her gender identity is more important than the need to protect women and it makes sense to lock her in an environment where she is able to continue to raping women.

All of which brings me to my question of housing in general. Maybe we should be housing rapists separately to protect the rest from such rape culture. And we also have the potential issue of the male woman rapists facing the same problems as a caught offending pedophile in the prison; that of being ganged up upon and facing prison justice.

I'm not one that says that we automatically put a trans woman in either prison. This is still relatively new and we need to refigure a lot of of our previous conceptions.
