George Zimmerman painting on eBay - tops $100,000

Not sure if this has been mentioned, although I didn't see any threads about this.
Thought some would find this interesting.

Original artwork from George Zimmerman on eBay currently at $110,000

I know a lot of his detractors will claim he's capitalizing on the things he's been accused of, but I would say all he is doing is putting up an auction to see what happens.

While he is crazy, a bit dangerous and destined for jail or suicide.... he is free, he needs the money to pay debts, and I personally see nothing wrong with it. This could be a very simple way for him to pay off that debt. Just keep painting more goofy paintings and selling them on auctions sites.

I am curious what others think. Without the usual name calling, and "he murdered a child" hyperbole from those that were there that night, of course.


I wonder if he would have been more financially secure if he tried to capitalize on the killing and had his name copyrighted...
like Trayvon's mom did.


Anyway.... any thoughts ?

 

Its a copy of the Logo for the Democratic Underground T-Shirt. I don't have a problem with him earning money... however, he probably shouldn't claim its an original.

 

Ok Margot, put these two pictures side by side and show us! Seriously, who cares, I can only imagine the messages a few of you guys are probably sending him on ebay.

It appears GZ may have a talent for this, but GZ is no Van Gogh though. Whatever money he makes, I hope he spends it wisely to pay off some of this debts and get his life back together.

 

George added the letters.. otherwise its the creation of another graphic artist.

Its not my style.. I have a couple of good pieces that I bought in Copenhagen in the 1960s that are signed by Paul René Gauguin ..

 

Not a bad painting really. I can't believe the bids are up to 110K!!

Maybe George missed his calling as an artist.

I don't know if GZ painting is a copy or not, however, being religious is not something that is exclusively on the right of the political spectrum. There are the "religious right" and the "religious left," with all worshipping God in their own way.

 

He hand painted painted the flag based on an image he has seen. Same one the DU has seen.
Then he added words.

It is an "original painting".... no matter what you say. Maybe look up the definition.

Democratic Underground is also showing the story and they claim it's "original" as well. If it was a rip off of theirs, they sure dont seem to know or mention it.

More support for the ridiculous vilification he has undeservedly received than any real attraction for his art, I'm sure.

At least according to some of the reported comments he has received.

But... it shows he can certainly pay off that debt in no time.

Yep, im sure the support is alot of it....but in the end, I actually think it's a nice looking painting. I dont have the means to bid on that kind of pricetag, but I like it.I'd hang it in the game room downstairs.

Again, Democratic Underground is running the story, and makes no mention of your concern. They even call it his own, original artwork so who are we to claim otherwise?

Well, he really is a bigger man than pretty much everyone, literally. If I were him I would just loathe this country I mean when the President is against you, you may as well just jump off a roof somewhere. For him to be as patriotic as he is, is pretty amazing. I have no doubts he will be painting on his private island after NBC pays him.

I do care that you are making some false claims on this one. I searched for "Democratic Underground Flag shirt" and I didn't see it. I went to their site and didnt see it. All I found was their posting of the story about Zimmermans original artwork. I wonder why you have to try and dismiss it?

Whats amatuerish and mundane? His painting that is selling for over 100K? Seems "amatuerish and mundane" sells.

 

Yeah I would like to see some proof or evidence for this one.
