Watching the US election is like watching a 5 day cricket match. Except I don't think it can be a draw.
America made a mistake... Biden is a nice old guy, but he will not lift America's economy up as Trump did.
36,000 votes left to count in Allegheny county around Pittsburgh, and these are going 78% for Biden. 50,000 left to county in Philadelphia and these are going 86% for Biden. Current lead for Trump, 18,229. Once the Philadelphia and the Pittsburgh regions are fully counted, Biden will win Pennsylvania. Game over. When it's all done, Biden will have won Pennsylvania by at least 35,000 votes (more likely some 40,000), putting all small amounts in doubt due to when they arrived, not enough to change the race, even if the SCOTUS reverses itself and invalidates them. Allegheny county will only be counted after 5 PM today, due to what's been explained regarding the 29,000 wrong ballots mailed to voters a month ago by a contractor (with the wrong down-ballot races for their districts). They have to wait for the deadline of Friday 5 PM for arrival of post-marked mail-in ballots, because any outstanding corrected ballots that arrive given that voters were encouraged to re-mail the corrected ones, will have to be matched to the potentially wrong ones mailed earlier, with the wrong ones then destroyed. If the voter didn't mail in the corrected ballot, then they will invalidate the votes for the wrong down-ballot races, while keeping the votes for the up-ballot races. This won't affect presidential votes because obviously Trump v. Biden applies to all districts; it's an issue for the down-ballot races only (so, don't even start the conspiracy theories; this has nothing to do with fraud). At a rate of 78% for Biden, Allegheny will net for Biden, 28,000 - 8,000 = 20,000. So that cancels the whole Trump lead and leaves Biden ahead by 1,800, grossly. Then, 50,000 x 86% = 45,580 for Biden, minus 7,420 for Trump = 38,160. Plus the plus or minus previous 1,800 = grossly 40,000. Some votes from southeastern blue counties are still coming in too, and in a few red counties, the votes left for being counted are all mail-in and these favor Biden by a little even in overall red counties. So, we get to what I said, more likely 40,000 votes. Oh, I just learned of another 7,000 in another county that is going 70% for Biden. That's another net 2,800. Let's just leave these out, to compensate for some possible small amount netted for Trump in red counties (which is not happening, like I said, regardless of these counties being red, the mail-in vote is still favoring Biden, but just to be on the safe side). As of now I predict that Biden will win Pennsylvania by about 40,000 votes if not more. Check mate, Trump. Start packing. You're moving out of the White House.
Economic analysis ascribing a booming economy to Trump is puerile nonsense. Economics follows cycles. Obama picked up an upswing from Bush after the 2008 crash and the decision initiated by Bush (prompted by teh UK Chancellor Brown actually) to rescue the world economy was then initiated by Obama. These two saved the US automotive industry whose collapsed would have resulted in a massive collapse in the global supply chain. Morons on the US Right wanted Detroit Big 3 to go bust, which would have trashed many multi billion dollar US companies in the supply chain. These same illiterates cannot see that Trump inherited a growing economy which had been well stewarded by Obama. One thing I would give to Trump - who probably has some smart advisors somewhere - is to allow US companies to bring back cash which was trapped by stupid US tax policy. This brought a trillion bucks into the US economy which was sitting offshore. I am one liberal that always saw that as a stupid policy. So he got that right. That one thing. Other than that he’s just a narcissistic moron who has done very little indeed except feed his ego and play “how much do you love me?” with his base. A truly shameful - and an indication of her long term decline - state of affairs that America supported this snake oil salesman in such numbers
We may have to have the Secret Service or the military move him out. Either that, or he'll abscond to a country with no extradition treaty, probably before the inauguration.
I think he'll flee the coming indictments. Or maybe he'll flee from whomever he owes that $420 million. Or both.
