A 25-year-old waitress who turned down a job providing "sexual services'' at a brothel in Berlin faces possible cuts to her unemployment benefit under laws introduced this year.

Prostitution was legalised in Germany just over two years ago and brothel owners – who must pay tax and employee health insurance – were granted access to official databases of jobseekers.

Under Germany's welfare reforms, any woman under 55 who has been out of work for more than a year can be forced to take an available job – including in the sex industry – or lose her unemployment benefit. .

I doubt if this works as intended. If a girl doesn't want the job, she'll uglify herself and be turned down by the brothel.

 

WOW. thank you for sharing. this is why I rely on message boards for news more then on establishment media: I can always double check the sources if something's fishy, but on the media, they simply ignore and tell us a story about some kitten trapped in the well instead. good post. I knew it will be coming to this. with all the IMF chiefs openly raping maids and all...

 

this looks like it oppresses the attractive poor girls as the unnattractive poor girls would not get hired by brothels due to not bringing in enough customers for the business

but then again attractive girls don't usually get turned down for higher level jobs as the statistics say attractive people in general have the highest employment rates so very few if any would be forced to take a brothel job

this may not present a problem it remains to be seen if many women will be forced to choose between welfare and brothel work

 

It seems to be Germany had speculation of this problem years back with other laws. My guess is that it won't be enforced when it comes to this. But, I might be wrong.

 

This is 5 yrs old. It's totally irrelevant to today.

I like the idea that a welfare recipient must take any job they are offered.

I'd love to hang out at Walmart on the 15th of the month with a pick up truck and offer to pay someone to mow my lawn and have them forced by law to do it.

We have to get that law here.

LOL... At least they may get some pleasure out of their work.
