https://www.dw.com/en/whats-holding-olaf-scholzs-coalition-government-together/a-68733604 The German government is a very weak one, a grand coalition among the Social Democrats, Greens, and Free Democrats. The Christian Democrats are the largest party in the parliament, but they refuse to enter a coalition with the Alternative for Deutschland on their right. Sanctions on Russia, the destruction of Nord Stream, Ukrainian and other immigration, and the fairly severe economic consequences of the Ukrainian war have strained their political system. After the war is over, a lot of European politicians will be out of jobs. The FDP is polling low enough that they may not get seats in the next parliament.
