Adam Guillette, Accuracy in Media president, joined "
Jesse Watters Primetime" to explain his investigation purporting educators use selective language to conceal what they teach children.

Critical race theory continues to be a point of contention between schools and parents, and Guillette said the teaching of CRT was a factoreverywhere his team investigated.

He was not surprised by the results of the investigation.

"At this point, I've been in over 150 school districts across the country, and we saw the same thing again and again and again, and we didn't go to Berkeley, California, or Boulder, Colorado," he said.

The presence of CRT was even found in red states like Florida, he added.

"These aren't one-dimensional villains," he continued.

Guillette emphasized that these teachers "mean well" by the kids they teach.

"They mean well, they're happy to break the law because they think it's in the best interest of every child to learn about social justice and systemic racism and how capitalism is inherently racist," he said.

He said these teachers view teaching critical race theory as "what is best for those kids." However, this is likely "dramatically different" from what parents view as acceptable teaching practices.

"Instead of talking about privilege, they now call it circumstance. They started teaching social and emotional learning as a Trojan horse for critical race theory in math classes," Guillette said about the language teachers use around critical race theory.

After parents began catching on to the language, Guillette claimed it changed.

"Get your kid the heck out of traditional public schools. I was in a 3–1 Republican-to-Democrat county in rural Tennessee and had an administrator brag about how progressive their curriculum was from an equity point of view. That's how bad it is," Guillette said.

There is also the presence of "equity officers" in schools, Guillette said, which he explained as "highly paid, non-classroom positions focused exclusively on pushing critical race theory into the classes. We have them in my state of Florida. They have them everywhere."
This is something that every community needs to have a discussion about. Do you really believe that anyone is held back in a capitalist system based on race? Where is this law? Where is the rule? It is definitely not written anywhere and if it’s not written where does that come from? Does this attitude need to be in our schools? I would say no. I plan on having a discussion with my kids about this to see if they have been subject to any of this as well.

Fox News stoking the culture wars again. No surprise there. And their viewers lap up the white victim-hood.

Attack the messenger when you can not attack the message. Typical debating point of those who don’t have the ability to debate it. This guy went across the country and telling people what he found. I think it’s pretty substantial

Neither I am considering what he purports to have found is exactly what he wanted to find. Repubs and their mouthpieces will continue to flog the CRT issue for as long as they think it will elicit the desired reaction from the base.

The message is nothing more than the unsubstantiated, subjective opinion of a conservative media critic. He offers no proof of his "findings." How can one refute the facts he presents when he presents none?
It is just what Quantum Nerd said it is.

No thanks. My post relates to DeSantis's demonization of CRT and the use more broadly of CRT as a wedge political issue.

Teachers are the Lefts version of the priesthood: getting to teach their religious dogma while molesting little boys and girls.

You would do well to confine those thoughts to a place like this where you can express them anonymously. Saying them in front of folks you know may lead to ridicule..........unless they are similarly disinformed.

The article is some mindless rambling about an "investigation" into schools supposedly teaching CRT, when they give ZERO actual examples, but cite some isolated cases that have been already circulated widely in RW media as evidence of teaching CRT being a common concern. Now, if their "investigation" would actually show some data, then one could talk. In the absence of data, it is just another RW media attempt to stoke the culture wars with this wedge issue.

The statement on that course was "not historically accurate". Until we get further details on specifics you should probably just stop talking about it. Since courses that are not historically accurate should not be taught in classrooms.

    A feel me?

if you define "critical race theory" as "anything conservatives don't like" don't be surprised to find it wherever conservatives look.

of course our teachers want to teach children of diverse background's to learn together in peace and mutual respect. that is their job.

so how about this. find a clip where desantis or rufo or tucker carlson actually defines "critical race theory" or "woke" and post it for us to learn what the hell you are talking about.

we tried the other way, by checking wikipedia and the articles on the subject. @Golem posted quite a bit about this and so did i. by now it should be obvious to the most hard headed trumpist that this is not a "real" thing to be concerned about.

You're the only one "ruining" it by going on about it. I wasn't going to post anything more. If you left it alone no more posts would have been dedicated to it. Oh the irony.

I don't know where you live, but here in the Tampa Bay area, not exactly a hotbed for crime, at least every other week or so I see stories of teachers getting pinched for diddling (or attempting to diddle) little kids in their charge. That's not to say it's so widespread that it's most of the teachers out there, clearly that is incorrect, but it's also not at all rare.

And, it is completely logical for that to be true... If you are a kid diddler, what better place to find yourself in than a room full of potential victims while under no supervision whatsoever. It's a natural profession for them to pursue for that reason alone. Insisting that we start teaching sexual topics of any kind, whether it can be remotely labeled as 'controversial' or not, to 5-year-olds is a serious problem. So serious that I cannot believe you guys don't even see a problem with that idea.

It's a bad idea even if you could be 110% absolutely positive that there isn't a single kid diddler in your entire school system. Which is impossible to be certain of, in fact, it's virtually certain in a big enough district that there are some as of yet unidentified kid diddlers. That doesn't mean smaller districts are necessarily immune, they just have the law of averages in their favor.
