Looks as though the planet is headed for a catastrophe. Experts say within the next few decades. Oil corporations will go on pumping oil in defiance of the impact of fossil fuel impacts on the atmosphere, agricultural production, climate-related deaths, and rising sea levels. They calculate that if governments do not step in to develop alternative energy technologies and curb the oil companies, the planet as we know it does not have much time left.

    The risks are graphic:

Meanwhile most of the GOP, no doubt with financial incentives from the oil corporations, drones on about how green-gas build-up has nothing to do with burning fossil fuels. I am sure their grandkids will in time (or whatever time they have) wonder what sort of people bred them.

Naturally, there will be many rightwing wailings of "junk science"

But I would warn them to support abortion clinics. They might find they need them if the planet is not able to support their kids.

Imagine being the grand-kid of some oil executive. What the (f***) were you thinking of, grand paw?

I KNOW global warming is a fraud. I read about climatology on the internet for 12 minutes, and I am now educated enough to form an opinion.

Watching an Al Gore documentary is not a superior source of information to the internet.

    Yeah, me too!

I means, the oil company execs who get 300 MILLION dollar pensions have NO reason to want to convince us to continue to burn ever more scarce and expensive fossil fuel, and those nasty greedy ol' 97% of scientists who just clean up BILLIONS EACH by warning about their made-up "catastrophe" based on nothing more than massively melting icecaps, warmer days and nights, expanded growing seasons moving into northern areas, and disappearing shorelines!

They are so greedy ALL of them refuse to publish the paper we all know will PROVE there is NO global warming and win themselves the Nobel Prize and massive fame!

    You are absolutely right.

All Liberal Green Wackos who believe in AGW should definitely not have children, and should not be allowed to spend any significant time around anyone else's children.

In fact, the world is so doomed, the should just quietly end their own lives as painlessly as possibly.

    Thank you.

Especially if you have formed an opinion in 12 minutes.

Have you heard of electric cars?

I liked when James Inhofe disputed global warming with a passage from Genesis.

Oh, so you just started driving recently, then?

And how is most electricity generated, by the way?

I believe the oil exec claim. But what's your source for scientists "cleaning up billions each"?

    Pardon me. That's sarcasm, right?

In a place like, let's say, New Zealand, it's 80% generated by hydro, geothermal and wind power. In Iceland, it's 85%.

    What was your point again?

I am not an expert in climatology. I have listened to some scientists give lectures about it, but I do not have the prerequisite knowledge required to have an opinion. I defer to the experts on this issue. There is an overwhelmingly opinion among them that climate change is happening. That seems credible enough to me.

So what do your grandkids propose to do? Starve to death, die of thirst, or get taken out by irritated Mexicans looking for food?

    - - - Updated - - -

I have seen research that predicts it won't happen to Republicans. Just to those nasty liberals.

But it could contain billions of dollars worth of bias.:banana::rock_slayer:

Just pointing out the hypocrisy of those who drive cars and complain about the evil oil companies.

Well, that's not much help, is it? I thought you had a miraculous solution there for a split second.

Like the Icelanders and New Zealanders already have.

That is a non sequitur. Driving a car does not disqualify you from disliking oil companies. Does driving on a road make you hypocrite if your criticize the government?

Fortunately, the US government believes there is a problem. But then it's not run by Republicans at the moment.

Germany has also got it figured.

And, for all those that like sources and never believe anything unless there is one (while spouting unsubstantiated crap themselves), here's the source http://www.triplepundit.com/2008/09/5-top-countries-for-renewable-energy-investment/)

The sky is falling! Koch! Halliburton! Braawwk!

Scare-mongering for the low-info base. Hook, line and sinker, works like a charm every time.

Please try to read the information I kindly provided. Germany is a leading nation in alternative energy technologies.

And when your doom and gloom scenarios don't come to fruition, will you apologize to humanity for your fear mongering and hubris?
