That poses a problem when one only have salvation through faith God requires both belief and a rational faith.

Not so, although there have been some philosophers who thought that.

The real world is the place where rocks are hard, water is wet, and fire is hot.

It's not a problem for me. Salvation from what?

The phrase "rational faith" is an oxymoron. Their is nothing rational about belief. It's emotional, pretty much the opposite of rational. That doesn't make faith a bad thing, since it gives comfort and meaning to many, but please don't try to claim that your God is real, above all others, or that I need to believe in your god, else something dire will happen to me.

Which God? Zeus? Ra? Ganesha? Which god is it that you have been indoctrinated to believe in?

The earth exists. The oceans exist. The stars exist. The sun exists. People exist. Etc etc etc. Our perceptions should match, i.e., the sky looks the same color to me as it does to someone standing next to me.

Opinions are subjective, but reality is what it is, regardless of who observes it.

I think what you mean is that we understand things based on our personal experiences. The facts don't change, but some are better than others at separating truth from the endless "noise" of the opinions of others.

SPIN :) I'm right and you're just going off on a tangent to cover what you didn't know :) SOK, now you're more informed then you were before we started, and that's a good thing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I understand indoctrination because I was sent to religious school as a child, but then I grew up. Some of us do and some of us never do. I don't need the "blessing" of a myth, thanks anyway. I could never understand as a child of Holocaust survivors why some of the concentration camp survivors in my family still clung to the myth.

Me to, I can't speak for you, but in my case I formed my own perspective/interpretation of what the concept was attempting to teach.. Granted, some folks go overboard with food, drugs, sex and religion(s)...

    Good luck Brah :)
