AFAI can tell, God is not stupid . It looks like He's clever/smart enough to have , given up / kept out /washed his hands off whatever's been happening in that region many millennia ago.. That's explains why HE's gone fishing or sitting at the other end of the Universe, watching us making fools of ourselves. .. THe only reason HE pursued the creation of "Humans" idea , was coz HE was lonely/fed-up/bored, HE had nothing better to do than "create" us - to keep Himself - occupied + amused. ....
