I'm definitely into exploring it if you want to provide more links. Coming back to this, I think Thomas Hobbes and Epicurus both had this idea of a physical God (Epicurus for sure). I want to make it clear that I am not making fun of people who ACTUALLY suggest that God is physical/biological. I'm only poking fun at those who are inconsistent about that claim. I'll check Stravrakopoulou on Youtube.
God's gender isn't for us to judge or care about. God created man and woman. To think we can change God's creation ....is arrogant and against God. God had a plan for man and woman. Both are made in the image of God...free will, emotion, etc and held apart for a relationship with the creator. To call God transgender---is to advocate man's power over God...
No. God is over all things. And he created man and woman. To put transgenderism. Over God's creation....just isn't smart.
Well, mostly I have listened to a YouTube channel called MythVision, but I listened to it while I was doing other things, so I'm not sure which video I remember is coming from. That said, here are some links: The very long version (warning 1.5 hours): Meet The Real God of The Bible! (YouTube) The short version: Meet The Real God of The Bible! Of course there is. Just a simple walk through nature reveals that intelligent design has taken place by a divine "creator" or what is biblically known as GOD. Natural theology alone is one profound argument for the existence of GOD. I believe it was William Paley back in the late 1700's who used the "watch analogy" to demonstrate the intricacies and mechanical perfection of the workings of the universe to be akin to a watchmaker, where as the watch maker is GOD. His watch analogy is described very simply as a person who is leisurely passing through a forest and accidentally stumbles upon a watch. The passerby who found the watch begins to ponder about its origin. Did it somehow just show up there because of all its parts serendipitous fell from the sky randomly and then magically just assembled itself and just appeared completely by chance and accident. Or was it was it placed/misplaced there in full working order as the finished product of a designer. Its complex inner workings and intricacy can have only come about by something of such high intelligence that had not only created it, but organized, and planned its intelligent design just as an engineer would. In other words, it had a master designer. You need to simply open your eyes to the wonders of your immediate surroundings; and that of the universe which is clearly organized with certain laws, such as the law of gravity. That little watch analogy of Pauley is all the proof you need to know that space, earth, animals, plants and us humans were the result of a great designer, GOD.
Humans have male and female so they can reproduce on their own, which is something God does not need to do.
God got 12-year-old Mary Pregnant now granted, I agree with you, he did not "need" to do that, but the story says he did it anyways
Mary (a human) was pregnant, not God. Jesus had to be born of a human, since the price / penalty had to paid by humans.
This is all so ridiculous. EVERY avatar of EVERY religion claims to be the product of “immaculate conception”. None had a human daddy. Really? I have a bridge …….. Can we please finally grow out of this childish, ancient and superstitious “need” for a god? There is zero evidence for it; there is no use for it as an explanation of anything; it’s too preposterous to be taken seriously. And yet it is taken all too seriously. The frigging “Christian Nationalists” want a Taliban-style government to deal out their idea of repression and mythology as reality. I make one wonder whether humanity is ready for prime time. It doesn’t seem so. We have people who do not believe we have systemic racism, and yet they DO believe in a fairy tale god. wow.
It makes one wonder whether humanity is ready for prime time…. Particularly when there is no rational reason for clinging to myths today.
yeah, that makes sense, 12-year-old had to get pregnant to save us all (from the same guy getting her pregnant), that's it
why would he get a 12-year-old girl pregnant, God works in mysterious ways I guess would be the answer to your question
At the time the bible was written, women were more property and bargaining chips than anything else. Even the apostles found Jesus' favoring of Mary Magdalene disturbing, resulting in her gospel being rejected during the council of Nicaea. Women were not to be authority figures. Therefore, god is portrayed as a male. Of course, everything in the universe that exists is god. Nothing exists except god, including all of us, so trying to label god as as he or she is pretty silly. But then again, so is a lot of stuff in religious teachings.
yeah, that covers it . . . . . and any other question too, doesn’t it? An answer designed to end questioning.
It is hilarious. And, that was certainly NOT lost on the student body! The degree to which they practice consensus in student body decisions is amazing.
