. A stranger approached a woman in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Tennessee. Fortunately, the 67-year-old good gal with a gun was armed, and her would be attacker ran back into the Wal-Mart store. Once inside, the alleged attacker, 52-year-old James Crutchfield called 911. Police responded and were told by Crutchfield and witnesses that he had done nothing more than ask the good gal with a gun for a light for his cigarette. The good gal, Sherry McLain told police she feared for her life and acted purely in self defense because Crutchfield had aggressively approached her. Police viewed store surveillance video, and with witness accounts found Crutchfield had shown no aggression towards McLain at all. They then arrested the good gal with a gun on charges of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. Whining to news crews as police took her to jail McLain said, This guy is the bad guy and Im the one in handcuffs. Witnesses to the incident disagreed. Police then added insult to injury when they confiscated McLains handgun for evidence at her trial, even though she had a permit. She is now out of jail on a $15,000 bond. Luckily for responsible gun owner McLain that during her careless pointing of her weapon at Crutchfield and others in the Wal-Mart parking lot that she didnt accidentally shoot an innocent Crutchfield or bystander. Had this happened, this post would have been added to the thread at this link: http://www.politicalforum.com/showthread.php?t=431348 Here is the link to the rousing tale of self-defense (not) by not-so good gal with a gun Sherry McLain. By the way, McLain is white, Crutchfield is not. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry...ack-man-self-defense_56420a52e4b0411d30727c42 .
