Interesting slideshow of the Republican presidential candidates' homes. http://money.cnn.com/galleries/2012/real_estate/1201/gallery.candidate-homes/2.html The surprises for me were: - The way Santorum carries on like a populist, I would have figured him for a more humble abode. - Ron Paul has the only home that most middle class Americans would actually see as approachable or be able to relate to. Based on homes.....Ron Paul is probably the only one who could claim not to be an elitist. - Gingrich and Perry's houses seem a bit out of place for career politicians who had no apparent big private sector successes... - Romney has the most expensive and elaborate properties, but that is completely understandable as he's the richest and come from the private sector.
He's got like 7 kids though he's got to have a big enough house to fit them in Ron Paul's house surprised me, he's really not in politics for money just his message.
The Obama's house in Chicago is 6,199 sq ft and valued at $1.65 million The Clinton House in DC is 5,152 sq ft and valued at $4.3 million John Edward's house near Chapel Hill is 28,200 sq ft and valued at $6 million. Much like Romney, I excuse Edwards as having gleaned a fortune as a lawyer. The other two are career politicians. I understand Bill makes tons speaking but the house they had in 1992 was comparable. I'm not castigating either. We all know their is graft in Washington. CNN is just trying to stir up (*)(*)(*)(*).
re Gingrich....2 million to advise FM seems like a homerun to me. He also is an author...and I use that term loosely.
I heard that Mr. Obama is contemplating the home of the late Katherine Hepburn. And i agree. CNN is stirring the pot. especially since they don't show us the homes of libs.
