Good point, Democrats have been involved in a lot of corruption ranging from what you mention to the Jimmy Hoffa union scandals, so my use of the term ever may have been a bit exaggerated, or not? Actually, I think I will make that argument, but I will concede the names of the parties is what really changed, NOT the people. The Democrats of THAT era, were the Republicans of today, and vice versa. If you think about it, great Republican icon presidents from Abe Lincoln to Teddy Roosevelt would never be able to run on a Republican ticket in this age, because they would be deemed too liberal by what now passes for Republican ideals. I'd say both sides are pretty equally corrupt. They both take the sides of special interests, while at the same time deriding them. There's been sex scandals aplenty among both parties. While at the same time prices are extremely high in the Medical Industry in the USA due to Government Welfare in Drugs, Operations and Corporate Welfare. A lie is a deliberate and purposeful distortion of a fact to cause deception and gain credibility in a false perception. Ron Paul lied because what he says about health care in this country is factually untrue and wrong. He is deliberately falsifying his facts because as a recipient of campaign contributions and lobbyist donations from insurance industries, pharmaceutical corporations, and health care organizations, it is in his best interest to convince people there little wrong with the American system. He wants to propagate the current system and keep the great divide between the wealthy and poor in acquiring basic health care. Exactly which part of Americans have more freedom in their medical practices? The Patents or the doctors? I agree that doctors in Canada, do not have the freedom to prescribe potentially deadly and dangerous drugs & medicines they do here. They do not have the freedom to indulge in multiple malpractice acts and basically avoid being removed from the health care community by simply relocating their practice like they do here. They do not have the freedom to falsely convince people to take medicine that will deliberately cause more health problems, like they do here. Or maybe you meant the patent freedoms? Like the freedom to basically die of your medical problems if you do not have enough money to pay for treatments? The freedom to have an insurance company tell you what kind of medical help you can or cannot receive. The freedom to be constantly scammed by the medical community. As for the outrageous costs of healthcare, that is deliberately and directly the result of government officials like Ron Paul allowing them to continue overcharging for everything. The exact same medicines and treatments we cannot afford here can and are delivered for pennies on the dollar in many other 3rd world countries, so there is no excuse in defending the American health care scam as it is now, ever.
