The Republicans long ago proved arithmetic is not their strong suit.

Their many tax cuts for the super-rich and Big Business that were supposed to bring prosperity for all only brought prosperity to the super-rich and corporate fat cats. Still, the Republicans, the right-wingers, and incompetent economists boast of their success.

With growing income inequality and wage stagnation for years when the GOP’s economic models are most prevalent, recessions and low paying jobs are the norm.

But Republican Marco Rubio has a “new” idea. He plans to cut taxes for the super-rich and Big Business and cut government spending to bring prosperity to the American people. As usual, the Republican arithmetic is the only form of math that makes his plans plausible.

Given the the years of lousy economic results when the Republicans' arithmetic is used, are voters going to let Rubio fool them too? It’s been said there is a sucker born every minute, but can there be that many suckers who haven’t noticed the growing poverty and income inequality in the U.S. over the last four decades? The GOP controlled the White House the majority of these years and their policies were enacted, so everything should have been wonderful for all.

Yeah, the billionaires have been and are doing great, but is anyone else? Before responding with the usual Republican propaganda, check the average yearly income for U.S. males in 1972, then compare that amount to today’s. (Hint: it’s dropped. In 1972 the average was $51,649. In 2014 the average was $50,383.)

Shouldn't Reagan's "Trickle Down" have that 2014 average much, much higher? According to the conservatives and neoconservatives, Ronny's "Trickle Down" has been a screaming success. But the chart at the second link proves differently.

Not many rich men (or women) are giving Americans decent paying jobs either. Those jobs go overseas where the workers are paid much less. But prices do not reflect these savings, consumers are still getting screwed to further enrich the fat cats loved by the right-wingers. (Hint: The fat cats you righties worship for their "hard work" are screwing you too.)

Knowing this, your Republican propaganda just doesn't cut it anymore.

Average citizens do NOT have the support of the oligarchs so adored by conservatives and neoconservatives. Republicans stood fast against Hope and Change as Obama attempted to end the status quo in government. As he tried to return power to the people, right-wingers cheered as the billionaires won out time and again.

Conservatives and neoconservatives do not want to take their country back, they want to hand "our" country over to the total control of the super-rich. All they ask in return is to outlaw abortion and same sex marriage, and make Christianity the national religion.

Most Americans don't want this grossly uneven deal, even though the Republicans have convinced the suckers everyone will be insanely happy if they are just given another chance in 2016.

Reagan's broad based tax cuts are designed not to have government spending decreased at all. It is a deficit driven tax policy to spur economic growth. It was later, after Reagan left office where the idea that cutting spending and cutting taxes came into being because conservatives thought that deficits was the political advantage conservatives need to win congressional offices. The problem with dollar first, functionality second budget priorities is that the budget process has now become too political today. And this is why crisis management with the budget seems to be the norm in today's political world.

Well, his plan worked great, for the very rich and Big Business. But for the rest of us, most lost far more than they gained. Of course, conservatives, neoconservatives, and anyone else who wants to defend Ronny, will find some invented chart showing some fictional statistics to prove everyone is making out just fine. They will also tell anyone who will listen that income inequality is the fault of the poor for earning so little.

the problem is that every tax policy has winners and losers, those that benefit and those that don't. With TRA 86, it did create a huge shift from the Midwest to the two coasts of where all the money and wealth went. But for some, particularly small businesses, it helped them depending on which industry they were in.

    I wouldn't trust Marco Rubio's tax plan.

It doesn't matter if it is a R or a D that gets elected, neither care about the population unless you are rich.

So in your opinion only lawyers, professional politicians and Community Organizers are qualified to run for office to run this country?
