Anyone who has gout knows how damn painful it is. I have it, so careful w/particularly meats, so I won't have a flare-up and always have the meds, just in case. I read health articles and read one recently about apple cider vinegar and the health benefits to it, which I already knew, but this article said drinking 2 tbsps of apple cider vinegar in a glass of warm water, add honey if you want (make that REAL honey) w/prevent gout flare ups. I tried it by eating a BLT, my favorite sandwich, loaded w/my beloved bacon, which is torture for gout victims and it WORKED! Not one twinge of pain.......now I can go back to eating my friend liver w/onions, bacon.....all that yummy stuff that I had only a few times a yr b/c of this gout crap......
If you live in an area where ginseng grows wildly, go out and dig up a few lbs and dry them, grind it up and vaporize it. (Don't be an ********, replant the berry that is on the end of the plant) The Old Chinese folk know, that's why it hit 1200$ a dry lbs here last year.
There's a product with really good reviews for Gout elimination. It's a liquid and has an eye dropper application. It flushes the Uric Acid out of the body thru the Urine. It's called Uricel and I believe Wal*Mart carries it for $ 44.06
...until you have a break through attack. You sound like a diabetic who says, "Hey, I can eat all the cake I want and chase it with a Mountain Dew just as long as I up my insulin."
I take allopurinol for gout. It keeps flare ups from happening. Different people have different triggers. I can eat bacon and beef without problem. Shrimp is my trigger. I would be limping the day after I eat shrimp. Soft drinks are tough on gout as well. Apple cider vinegar does help, but you have to make diet and exercise changes. Losing weight will also help.
I drink lots of liquid. If you're peeing then you're NOT turning your blood into a supersaturated solution of uric acid. Works for me, haven't had a gout attack in 20 years.
