    which excludes gun stuff, armor, food or water. The concealable Kevlar, shorts and all, total 5 lbs, but can easily mean more than most of the ammo in your first mag. The guns, ammo, mags, scope, bipod and accessories total 12 lbs. When hostilities are in the offing, access to water is nothing like as easy/frequents as in peacetime, so I carry a full gallon, 8 lbs. I keep the total under 40 lbs, to reduce the risk of bunged up ankles/knees and let me run if need be.

    I got my survival gear down to just over 600 lbs.

    There's nobody I'd trust to be telling me the truth, if shtf. No way to tell if their privates are in the jaws of a pair of pliers. for a storm or flood, or fire, some small thing, maybe, but small things, you don't really need a bugout bag for. Just some money to get out of that area.
