Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) made it clear this week that he has no plans to submit to the radical left and their fake news narratives, telling a group of Republicans at Allegheny County’s annual Lincoln Day Dinner that he has “only begun to fight” and warning the GOP cannot revert to “the days of the failed Republican establishment of yesteryear.”

DeSantis, a rising star in the Republican Party, delivered a half-hour speech to hundreds of Republicans attending the event in Pittsburgh, speaking about the corporate media, big tech oligarchs, and Florida’s tried and true pro-freedom approach to the Chinese coronavirus pandemic.

“All I can say to any state that has not followed suit: Open your state, open your schools, end these mask mandates, let people live and thrive,” DeSantis said during the address. “When it came right down to it, we chose freedom over Fauci-ism.”

The more I read about this governor, the more I like him. I love the way he stands up to the lamestream media and would rather poke a stick in their eye than bow down before them. His position on all the major issues is right on as well,

This governor is a great example of a GOP governor taking a red state in a diametrically 180 degree opposite direction on virtually every issue from where national democrats would have us go.

Desantis is desperately trying to ape trump to attract his cult.
He’s trying to turn Florida into a corrupt shithole pandering to the rubes and fleecing them forever with his new casino gambit and demagogic rhetoric.
Meanwhile, trump continues to show the world why he was summarily fired as potus and what a disgusting maggot he is.
It’s stupid to ape such a deplorable character, but Desantis is a grubby moron, so he keeps diving down trump’s rabbit hole.

He just needs to come out now and declare for 2024. But he cannot do so until TFG makes up his mind

I like this guy. I would still take trump over him but I like this guy. One thing I was not a fan of trump for was his willingness to attempt to work across the aisle. I’m not sure DeSantis would have that problem. Then again, if Trump wins again I expect him to have zero compromise and be excessively aggressive with his policy maneuvers given the way he’s been treated.

Im no longer looking for a candidate to unite the sides as that is an impossibility. I’m looking for a candidate that can make his case intellectually to the independents and not be willing to give one solitary millimeter to the democrats by way of compromise. A man or woman who will stand and fight no matter the pressure or consequence.

He's doing what Charlie Sheen only Dreamed of.That is ...
    - Winning -
If one is familiar with Charlie Sheen's mental breakdown
where he went nuts over how Great he was. When Alex Jones
    * interviewed him.Charlie company { - Platoon - 1986 } could not help\
himself.Constant boasting how much white powder he could handle.\
How many chicks he could wear out. With repeating ...
Winning ... Winning Anyone.Like he virtually invented Winning.
Is the sole proprietor of it.It became tiresome and boring.
It basically ended the guys career.
Not so with Ron DeSantis. His winning is real and it affects an entire
state and the proof is not in bragging. How many New Yorkers have fled
N.Y.city for Florida { Flar-id-duh } How those from New Jersey pronounce.

Desantis has done an excellent job here. Dems could actually criticize him if they had any legs to stand on but what do they have? CA? NY? What?

Name a large state that even compares? They can’t. They can’t talk about Cuomo anymore. CA is still a **** show trying to climb out of a hole. The damage Dems did the last year is immeasurable.

And those trying to paint Desantis with the Trump brush are paid shills and trolls. The won’t have anything to hit him with besides saying he liked Trump or Trump liked him and they’ll push that agenda every second they can. It’s all Dems have. Trump Trump Trump. It’s called TDS.

Besides, Desantis is VERY articulate and clear and rational. Not bending over to Democrats or sitting there while they lie about you isn’t a Trump trait. It’s just being a strong human being, something Dems can’t stand. They enjoy their limp weak candidates like Obama and Biden.

Dems and the MSM have been lying about Desantis since he was elected and he’s proved their lies wrong over and over again. And considering who they supported, coked out druggy loser. What can they possibly say at this point?

Agree with everything except this. They like strong ideology and either a strong candidate to push it or a puppet like Biden to obfuscate it.

They do THOROUGHLY enjoy our limp wristed republicans though.

De Santis is probably an excellent potential GOP candidate.

The problem is that he can't do anything without Trump's approval.

And even if he had his blessing, DeSantis would have to praise Trump nonstop or risk being copiously insulted.

You don't get out of a cult of personality that easily in politics.

His so called policies come straight out of trump’s ass.
That fool thinks he can become potus by aping trump.

Maybe you were on Mars in the last few weeks, but Liz Cheney was expelled for criticizing Trump... even though she voted for his policies 97% of the time.

Trump still has a huge lead over the GOP, no one can deny that.

And while it's unlikely he'll run again in 2024, he wants to be a kingmaker.

So anyone who wants to run for the Republican nomination will have to kiss his *** or face a smear campaign from the orange moron.

You can be sure that Desantis will be portrayed by the Liberals as a Trump sycophant.

    Because that's what he is.

He will have to assume that he is a strong supporter of Trump and face the majority of the electorate who have rejected him.

    Cults of personality have consequences.

De Santis has a great record in congress before he became governor of Florida. People knew where he stood. His policies shouldn’t surprise anyone. Governors of smaller red states have been even more outspoken in pro Trump policies and legislation signing.

lol…it’s more a reminder of trump’s mental breakdown where he went nuts after losing the election.
Of course, he’s had more enablers than Sheen ever had.
Desantis aping trump is a losing tactic.

True, but this thread was started in May, before this latest surge.

In the meantime, we can read about the death of this other Florida slime

This is the best epitaph I've ever read.. Can they get all that on a tombstone?

    SNIP
William H. Regnery II, a racist, reclusive multimillionaire who used his inherited fortune to finance vile white supremacist groups in the hopes of one day forming an American whites-only ethnostate, died earlier this month, his family and associates confirmed. He was 80 years old.
    ENDSNIP

This guy was so loved that it took 2 weeks before anybody noticed or cared he was dead....

After only one maskless month... Los Angeles County will be reimposing indoor mask mandates, etc.

L.A. County will require masks indoors amid alarming rise in coronavirus

Starting Saturday night, residents will again be required to wear masks in indoor public spaces, regardless of their vaccination status.

I have no idea why you would revive this thread when Florida is among the four states (all Republican), leading the current summer covid surge. Why? Because of DeSantis lax personal protection policies, and Florida low vaccination rates. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. He gambled bigly with people's lives, and it looks like he is losing against covid. At least most of the delta variant superspreaders are probably anti-vaxxer Trumpers. Darwin at work.
