Well, they are going to review the 1.1 million signatures and try to toss out illegitimate ones.......Only 540,000 are required though.....so do you really think that 1/2 the signatures are fraudulent?

To me, it looks as if they're going to drag their feet as much as they can, but that this recall election is going to happen. Recalling a governor is a very rare thing. It's only happened twice in history.

Do you think Walker will get voted out?

No. I am guessing that he will win this recall election by about 8 points more than he won the first election.

Figuring this is a leftist effort, a million signatures might be the 500,000 or so real signatures to get the issue on the ballot...

I applaud the unions for this effort in trying to take control of the state. it is a clear display of how far union members will go to protect their taxpayer funded benefits and taxpayer funded salaries and put more burden on the avg citizen

The recall will cost the state some serious money. If good citizens don't go to the polls but allow union members to be the majority of votes then the WI people will deserve what they get.

Good WI citizens need to get out in droves and show the unions once and for all that this will not be tolerated.

They are 1.9% off their highs, similar nationally. Neighboring Michigan is more than 4% off their highs. You make a good case for President Obama to be re-elected, but Walker is likely to sink for other reasons. The people believe in basic freedoms.

You don't get it. I've never belonged to a union and have always had private sector work. I don't agree with everything unions have negotiated with states. But like every American who values freedom, I support our rights to collective bargaining, just like Reagan. Walker is an extremist, and America has no use for him.

Oh, I agree! Like the basic freedom Wisconsin Taxpayers now enjoy from Union money influencing elections and gaining the ability to negotiate contracts with the politicians that their money elects.

Or, Taxpayer freedom from Teacher's Unions forming their own Insurance Company, and mandating that their members buy their overpriced insurance from it.

And...Taxpayer freedom to allow each School District to drop this mandated Union Insurance Company, and save hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars each by buying insurance for their teachers from private insurance companies!

Surely that is the type of freedom that you vehemently support!!

    Right?

    :-D

    Who is this attributable to:

"It is impossible to Collectively Bargain with the Government."

The first Challenger to Walker has just thrown her hat into the ring:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/democrat-candidate-steps-up-with-1st-formal-challenge-to-wis-gov-scott-walker-in-recall/2012/01/18/gIQAoM477P_story.html

    Kathleen Falk.

It looks as if she is assuming the recall is moving forward......and judging from Walker's staff reaction, in already trying to discredit her, they are assuming it's moving forward as well.

That's the interesting thing about a recall election........that there has to be someone else to vote for besides the current governor. It remains to be seen whether someone can paint themselves as a better alternative than Walker.....and then make it a 2 person race.

of course I get it. We are talking about taxpayer funded jobs and the unions which represent those taxpayer funded jobs

I hope all good WI citizens get to the polls and show the public employees who their employers are and that they won't stand for this nonsense much longer

Wisconsin: Walker Recall Fizzling As Budget Reforms Succeed

The people of Wisconsin are learning what Virginia residents already know: Conservative governance works. In the wake of the madness in Madison, Badger State Leftists vowed to begin the process of recalling Gov. Scott Walker -- or as many liberals affectionately called him, "Hitler." Since then, Wisconsin Democrats and unions spent millions on an unsuccessful bid to re-capture the State Senate, and a conservative State Supreme Court judge was re-elected. Despite their furious rallies and tough talk, the Left's collective tantrum failed because the policy they opposed so fanatically has been paying early dividends. More on that in a moment, but first, here are Democratic pollster PPP's latest numbers on the Walker recall:

Better check to make sure how many dead people signed that petition. Wouldn't surprise me to see Vince lombardi took part in the issue.

I agree, I hope the citizens of WI, enjoy the financial freedom for themselves and their future generations. I don't look for Walker to go, however if he does, citizens will pay dearly for their push against the unions!
