Aaron Rodgers is finished, if not for his career, for at least the season. Unless the Pack can muster a leader, they are done for 2017-18 season. Cheers, Jason Bourne
That SUCKS. Even for teams I hate like the Giants, I would feel incredibly sorry for them if they lost their franchise QB for a season. AR12 is too good. It's no fun when someone like that goes down. Luckily for him, collar bone breaks are VERY easy to come back from. Even if the packers make the playoffs, Rogers could be good to go by then. Sometimes they take 6 weeks or less to heal. However, to be safe, I think they will bench him anyway just to be safe for 2018 season. Still sucks for the pack that he's out for the rest of the season but my gut tells me they still go 9 and 7 and make the playoffs
My first reaction to the news that Rodgers has a broken collar bone was - great, just great.... with all of the other injuries we have we'll be lucky to be 7 and 9 but I've calmed down a little since and I am somewhat optimistic that Hundley can guide us to the playoffs IF and it's a big IF, the defense gets better and quick. Rodgers is having surgery and his chances for returning are slim and none.. so it's Hundley.. Go Pack Go!
Well Rodgers gave you guys a nice head start. Hundley needs to shake off the cob webs but I think a 9 and 7, or maybe even 10 and 6 is in the future which probably secures a playoff. Unfortunately for you guys, a super bowl seems out of the picture. But you never know, Tom Brady stepped in for DB when he got hurt and won a super bowl
I was right about Atlanta, they ARE fading.. The Packers are in deep trouble. Hundley MUST become a much better QB after the bye or we may not win another game. What began as a season full of hope and optimism has turned into a season I may want to forget.
ATL isn't fading. They are having the same problem the Pats did in the first 4 games. Their pass rush is not on the same page and their secondary is on the field too long in coverage (facing both passing and running QBs). GB is in trouble. If I were them I'd sign someone who has more experience. Rodgers will be back in full strength so you they can forfeit a season if they want. He'll be back slingin guns next year (possibly in the playoffs if they make them)
The post-Rodgers era began 3 weeks ago. It will be rocky, and it will be fantastic. Super Bowl this year? I think so.
We will know more after today. I never WORRY much about sports. It is a distraction and fun to poke at. No more, no less. I would much rather that Pack end the season by losing every remaining game than to pick up Kapernick (before the Pats do). Then again, nothing against Kapernick, only his actions. If he changed his mind today, and decided that he actually owed the country some gratitude for his well being .. then I would say that we all make some mistakes in life and should be welcomed back to sanity when it presents itself. One man's opinion.
I do not currently watch the NFL. Play football on game day and leave the politics for the rest of the week and I will.
Life is complex and made of pieces. Separate the mix and you will find pieces you like and pieces you hate. Overall, either enjoy the mix and address your dislikes, or fade into obscurity by ignoring the pieces you would prefer did not exist. Politics exists in football. I have been a avid GB fan for many years. I won't shrink because politics has intruded, but will not let it ruin my world either.
I don't think the Packers can win another game.. This was supposed to be a super bowl year. Gawd damn it!
Family medical issues have seen me miss all of last season, & most of this. What I HAVE seen from my Packers, makes me remember those Dry Decades, (All 3 of them) before Favre.
Dom and D would never allow us to have a SB season of hope. Just a good regular season and a win or 2 in playoffs. And last nite all aspects of poor drafts and poor coaching was out there for the football world to see. Rodgers isn't there to bail out the coaches.
It was a terrible display of defense, How does Capers still have a job? Does he have pics of MM and TT together in bed or something?
I started following the Packers in 2009, so I didn't experience the bad years but have had many fans tell me about them..
I have lived in Wisconsin most of my life. Former DT Ron Kostelnik was an assistant coach on my football team as a freshman, I attended with his daughters... This was after the Glory Days of course, but, Packers football is Sacred to me.
We need new blood for a DC. Who do you know in the NFL that gets #1 defensive picks year in and year out and we still stink?
Thing is, GB tends to place all eggs in the basket of the QB'S, & then, more often than not, (Rodgers being a slim exception) the 2nd, & 3rd string, usually leaves. Then, with injuries plaguing the team, they get behind the 8-ball for a good few years.
I know.. Right? It's supposed to be part of his "new" Nitro defensive scheme. I think it leads to injuries. What about going back to a regular 4-3 defense?
