Excellent article by The Center For Immigration Studies. So long as we have a divided congress this crisis will only worsen for both the US and Mexico. https://cis.org/Wahala/Growing-Border-Crisis Amidst recent talk of growing caravans and states of emergency, the Center for Immigration Studies completed its eighth border tourearlier this spring, traveling in the Border Patrol's Tucson Sector, from Nogales, Ariz., to the New Mexico state line. On the ever changing border, the latest national story is the exponential increase in the number of people making credible fear claims in hopes of getting asylum, something that was not happening a few years ago. While the Tucson Sector has yet to experience the crush of asylum seekers that are arriving in the Rio Grande Valley, the numbers are increasing, as are the number of overall apprehensions. To the west in Yuma, the mayor has declared a state of emergency to handle the growing influx. To the east, undeveloped parts of New Mexico are seeing large numbers of illegal crossers and drug smugglers for perhaps the first time. The pressure being exerted on the surrounding areas of the border has prompted authorities who lack detention space to bus apprehended migrants to Tucson for release rather than let them go in areas that are already overwhelmed.
I think my claim of suffering from Trump derangement syndrome is credible Show me the money Give me disability or give me death.. we know what Trump supporters will say. Die liberal puke.. I'm worried about 16,000 orphans being under the watchful eye of fine Trump people Trump's policy is making the border worse and worse all the time. it's going to get to a point where he can't handle it and he's just going to shut it down and it's going to cost us billions per hour
And you prefer all immigrants who come to the southern border be allowed in? Should the US encourage people to come to the US because if you know the reason why people are coming here from mostly central America it wouldn't take much encouragement.
Not sure how that is going to fix the reason immigrants are coming to the US in the first place. How do you suppose the US could fix that?
Once upon a time, long long ago, the Dems offered Trump 5.6 billion for a wall in exchange for a Dreamer deal. I'm not sure how to "fix" it, but I'm pretty sure trying to give them free room and board isn't it.
We need to expand the ocean coverage as we have intercepted boatloads coming from Cuba and Haiti in recent days.
Rhe crisis on the border has nothing to do with American policy. Simple fact. Too many people are coming to the US. They have to wait their turn.. We shouldn't be forced to change our policy because they are overwhelmingly our system.
Many are coming from Central America. I would like to see more reporting on these Central American countries and why so many are leaving. Until the problem in CA is solved many will continue to come continuing the crisis for both Mexico and the US.
We can sure agree on that one. We need to get Bolton working on regime change a little closer to home.
We need the wall But the most immediate need is for changes to US law that currently facilitate the migrant invasion
I agree the problem isn't immigration it's thoes countries being so bad that people feel the need to leave. What can we do to help those countries be places people want to stay?
Maybe, i have a general distrust of the UN. I think these central American countries could find better partners than the UN.
Free medical. Free education. Subsidized housing. Free or subsidized food. All kinds of reasons are offered by liberals.
