my point was destroying the claim that a small percentage of guns are used for what they were intended to be used for. I have hunted in Europe, North and South America and Africa and competed in Europe, North America, and South America as a shooter
So, how many guns have been manufactured compared to how many people have been killed by guns? I am pretty sure that the vast majority of the guns never accomplished the purpose you say they were intended to do. I have around ten guns or so. Most were inherited or gave to me. None of those are intended to kill anyone. However, it is my hope, that having them around will protect me and my family, if the need arises.
Which still doesn't negate the fact that guns were created to kill no matter how much you want it to.
Not true. Have you forgotten that they are also made to put little holes in paper/cans/watermelons? Or the many other uses like predator control and making little discs turn into smoke?
America's corrupt ruling political class is now cowering behind its last line of defense, The RP/DP the Uniparty. A corrupt ruling elite is always vulnerable and afraid, and must rely on violence and the threat of violence to retain its privileges. You might find Hannah Arendt's discussion of the difference between real political power and violence interesting. Far more than 80% of the public now despises our entrenched privileged establishment. “WASHINGTON (AP) -- Americans' confidence in all three branches of government is at or near record lows, according to a major survey that has measured attitudes on the subject for 40 years. The 2014 General Social Survey finds only 23 percent of Americans have a great deal of confidence in the Supreme Court, 11 percent in the executive branch and 5 percent in Congress." Not mine. Like I said, if that is their intended purpose, they rank among the most inefficient devices ever invented by man.
Which still doesn't negate the fact that guns were created to kill no matter how much you want it to.
Apparently neither of yo have driven by the many, many … many military cemeteries around the country/world.
Some have the capability to kill. That capability is what makes them effective at stopping killing. That is not the same as being created to kill. I have several 22 rifles. It is very difficult to kill someone with a 22 I have an old Daisy BB gun which is not capable of killing someone.
~ I believe ' AR' is the abbreviated name of the rifle manufacturer. Apparently this rifle is very easy to handle, very accurate and a good choice for novice gun owners . If I lived on a ranch or equestrian property I would look into purchasing this weapon — among a few others . '❗️
They were created to kill, marksmanship grew out of that. Military cemeteries prove how effective and efficient they are.
That is the most uninformed, and dangerous, response in this thread. When I was first in college a young lady was killed instantly by one bullet from a 22. Twenty-two’s were are a weapon of choice for contract killers.
the first pointy stick was created to kill, that doesn’t mean much. Not all guns are created to kill, and that’s a fact. What does it matter what they were created to do or not do? It’s pointless.
Actually the first self propelled land vehicle was created by a French Army officer “to kill”. Ironically it was made to move and position cannon. Subsequent spin-offs of this vehicle created to facilitate killing not being used to kill is irrelevant.
That they are semi-auto makes them a poor choice to learn on. I wouldn't recommend a semi-auto for a first gun. I would recommend a single shot, break or bolt action. Why? It's very easy to lose tract of whether or not the chamber is loaded with a semi-auto.
why do you post stuff that even you know is not accurate. many guns are made for military purposes but many are made for target shooting
that is true-more people have been killed by 22 rimfire rifles than all the things gun banners call "assault weapons" combined
