    Newt Gingrich said:

“I think the destructive, vicious, negative nature of much of the news media makes it harder to govern this country, harder to attract decent people to run for public office, and I am appalled that you would begin a presidential debate on a topic like that.”

As usual with Newt he is only half-right.

The media makes it easier for the wrong people to govern this country. Wrong people means Socialists/Communists and collectivists of every stripe. There is no doubt the media helped such people acquire political power as far back as the beginning of the 20th century. There is no doubt the media does everything within its power to keep the wrong people in power. That power is awesome thanks to television. It’s fair to say that media power grew into the monster it is today because of television. That makes it difficult to separate print press, the power of television, and the power of media in general in order to correct the problem without abolishing the First Amendment.

In any event the XVI & XVII Amendments are the real problem. I’ve railed against those two many times; so I won’t do it again in this thread except to say the media’s support of those two amendments certainly makes it harder to govern this country.

Instead of the constitutional implications involved, I want to touch upon the media’s income which Newt did not address.

Campaign advertising is found money to the media; hence, the selling season has been getting longer and longer with each presidential election. If you think the point of absurdity was reached in 2011 just you wait until the next campaign season begins on January 1, 2014.

To media bean counters the presidential election every four years is better than Christmas is to retailers. Retailers sell merchandise while the media sells hot air; so it is all profit.

Remember that most of the money every candidate gets is spent on campaign commercials. The losers spend as much as the winners. So long as average Americans continue to contribute to candidates in the primaries the media’s income will increase in every campaign season.

I’ve always said it is foolish for average Americans to donate to any candidate until after the nominating convention ends. The wealthy will get something in return for their contributions; average Americans will get nothing except the candidate the media wanted in the first place.

Everything that has ben going wrong in this country, every loss of individual liberty, the destruction of the US Constitution, every betrayal to the UN, open borders, the welfare state, big government tyranny, the justice system, and so on is the media’s doing. It is not the people in government who should be hanged by the neck until dead if this country ever comes to violent revolution, it is the people in media who should have their necks stretched good and proper because they sold every bit of it to the American people.

Finally, open borders is especially painful to today’s Americans because the media encouraged it back in the LBJ years when Democrats, led by Ted Kennedy, turned immigration into an affirmative action program. Today, the media reports on the illegal immigration problem they helped create by ignoring it for decades as though they are now as innocent as newborn babies.

I have not been reading the mountain of crap the media puts out about the candidates. I learn everything I want to know just by reading the headlines on the Net. I did read this article:

Gingrich Beats Media in South Carolina, 54 to 14
    By Terence P. Jeffrey
    January 21, 2012

    http://cnsnews.com/news/article/gingrich-beats-media-south-carolina-54-14

Don’t be fooled by Newt. He won a lot of votes by voicing the public’s underlying hatred of the media, but he did not beat the media. Only the public can beat the media by electing people the media fears and denigrates. Newt ain’t that guy. Newt is an establishment Republican who is an acceptable replacement for Hussein as is Romney and Santorum. Hussein is no worse than any of them.

NOTE: Gingrich brags about doing welfare reform when he was Speaker of the House. To some extent he reformed welfare for the poorest of Americans. He did nothing to reform welfare going to millionaire/billionaire parasites. Reforming welfare is just one of his little half-truths. Bottom line: No media-approved president will ever cut down the Beltway establishment’s access to the public purse.

Mark my words on this: President Gingrich will sellout the country and private sector Americans as did Hussein and the previous three presidents, and the media will cover for him. Those people have the sales technique down to a science. The only way to upset the applecart is to put enough conservative Republicans in Congress with the courage to standup to “their” president more than they standup to Hussein or any Democrat president. Anything less than that and it’s more of the same for the next four years.

The best thing conservatives can do for themselves at this time is defeat Newt in Florida. After Florida rotate the primary victories among the four wannabes. And if you really want to defeat the media make sure that Ron Paul gets a couple of those victories. Nothing will defeat the media more effectively than to have Ron Paul still standing at the nominating convention.

Finally, even if I believed anything Newt is saying now, I stand by everything I said in this thread:

Romney and Obummer represents about 80% what is wrong with this country, corporate sock puppets, and Newt is also a sock puppet, but also a lobbyist, the other 20%.
