Apparently they didn't put a seatbelt on her. I would think making sure someone was securely in the car would've been the biggest priority. Will this lead to protests:

Under Georgia law, because the vehicle was moving, this should be involuntary vehicular manslaughter on the officer. Technically, leaving the car door open while the vehicle is moving is a violation of the motor vehicle codes and regulations. This may be an "accident" but it should have serious consequences.

I wonder if she saw the door was open and tried to make a break for it.

It's a good thing she wasn't black or we'd have race riots going off all over the US now.

There are strict rules for this. After cuffing and Miranda rights, a proper search is done. They’re belted into the back seat, and doors are secured and the camera faces the suspect. Stays like that until you enter the sally port.
    This will not end well.

Could you please point out the part that states her race? I read the link but found nothing. Perhaps you're just playing the race card?

If she was black they would've mentioned it. Therefore she must have been white.

Proper procedure is to handcuff behind the back, make sure they are secure, body check for weapons, protect the head getting into the vehicle, apply seatbelt, close the door, walk around to the driver's side in the back so you can watch for any strange/abrupt movements, get in, seatbelt, radio "in route", drive...

With all that said, I find it a bit difficult to believe that she was in the back of moving car with a door open and didn't say anything. So, my instincts are telling me this is some kind of cover story for whatever actually happened to her.

I'm sorry, but if the woman could not help but fall out of the car, that is kind of her fault.

Was she on drugs or something, or trying to escape out of the open door?

Even in handcuffs, she could have easily scooched over to the other side of the seat, away from the open door.

I cannot imagine how she could not have easily avoided falling out of the car if she had wanted to avoid it.

I don't know the legal nitty gritty, but the moment he put cuffs on her, the cop was responsible for her safety.

some form of manslaughter I would think, something along the lines of reckless (criminal) negligence, perhaps.

He was responsible for her. What I can't figure out is how the police officer did not know the door was open before he drove? To me. that is unimaginable.

    I don't think it's that simple.

Can they really be expected to save her from herself?

What happened here is kind of like a prisoner trying to climb over razor wire at the top of a fence to escape a prison, and then accidentally cutting an artery and bleeding out as a result.

She was probably the first to realize the door was open, and then she tried to immediately jump out, before they realized the door was open.

The car should have been giving a beep warning if the passenger door was open. It should be inspected.

It is very unlikely which is why I think she died some other way. I can't imagine she didn't say anything about the open door or he "forgot" to fasten her seat belt AND "forgot" to close the door. Plus, wind pressure should have forced it closed or partially closed when he started driving forward.

They will have to come up with a better lie. This one doesn't work.

Everyone is a little quick to blame the police officers, aren't they?

What if the victim is to blame?

You're pretty quick to blame the victim, what if the cops are to blame?
