Back to the subject, this really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

It's poor people that are hurt the most by bad economic times. And a far greater percentage of Blacks, Hispanics and Young people are poor than in the general population.

They are the first to be layed off and the last to be rehired. And when you are living on the edge the slightest economic mishap can put you on the street.

More affluent people can "Dip into savings", "Liquidate some of their portfolio" , or cut the Aspen Holiday Skiing Vacation down to one week instead of two.

Really rich people, the overwhelming majority of whom are white and "not young" are making a killing on this economic downturn.

 

Agreed. It's too bad those who need it the most didn't get a piece of the stimulus, huh? I still remember how much that $600 tax rebate check we all got from George Bush helped. Poor folks have gotten squat from Obama... even after re-electing him.

And to add to that the SOB started a $2 billion dollar a week war in Iraq.

That's $25 a week or $1,000 bucks a year for a family of four.

None of that was paid for.

So for that $600 you got, you got saddled with thousands of dollars in debt.

Yep, those of us 50 and older should be happy; many of us have real pensions, medical benefits, can expect to collect our social security, own homes/condo's and so forth. Many younger then us don't enjoy those benefits and/or own homes, so its easy to see why they may not be happy. Hopefully someday our younger members of society will see the light and organize so they can enjoy what we enjoy.

OK, I'll play. Yes, you would be much happier. If McCain had been elected, we'd be paying $1.75 a gal for gas. If Romney had been elected, we'd be enjoying 3% unemp.

$600 more than the middle class as gotten from Barack. And how bout those $4 prescriptions? Made a huge difference in the lives and health of low income Americans.

If they get their way, and it's looking like they will, you will pay back that $600 many many times over in reduced Social Security and Medicare benefits in the future.

How much was your rebate check from Obama? All that stimulus money and not a dime to the working man.
