Well unless you live in Chicago because there is bound to be a huge number of shootings....or unless you are a real American i.e. conservative who must grouchily proclaim that it is a time to reflect and not celebrate and how we happy liberals are the ruination of all that is great and aren't true Americans because we go to the pool, have cook outs and such when we should be out all slouched and mopey...but otherwise, Happy Memorial Day Weekend, or Merry Memorial Day Weekend if you are a British Ex-pat trapped here in America who must always say Merry when we say Happy and Happy when we say Merry because of some genetic defect or because it makes you feel like you have not completely surrendered your nation and your culture to American materialism...I mean Exceptionalism....any -ism except Imperialism because we prefer not to use that word to describe our total world dominance because domination is anti-democratic and we at least like to pretend to be the greatest democracy ever, but I digress.

Who cares if you have cookouts, or go to the pool. Memorial Day is a empty gesture to the dead, so you might as well be apathetic, because it really doesn't matter.
Empty gesture....you infidel. Why I gave the biker chick at Sam's club $20 for a poppy. Not sure if it was for the VFW or if she was raising money for another eagle tattoo, but I bought my moral all-clear ticket to a weekend of grilling with that one.
