Harambe, that dead Gorilla, received over 11,000 votes this election. Now the 11k votes wouldn't have made a different alone, and were likely a "silent protest" of the candidates... but if you are going to use a vote, at least write-in someone that could make a difference, rather than for comedic effect. To be fair, you wouldn’t be talking about it if they’d written-in something less ridiculous so in that way their choice of “protest vote” worked.
