Another reason trying to push college onto everyone may not be the best idea: Hardest hit: College students who never finish school And a lot of students may take far longer than 4 years to make it through. The college track isn't as good of a deal for these students. Years of their life spent in school and then a mountain of debt. And no guarantee that that degree is even going to get them a foot in the door when it comes to trying to get a job.
Then there are those students who work in nearby Walmarts and supermarkets all the way through, like the many University of Louisiana students working at nearby Rouses supermarkets. Of course you don't get a lot of party and alcohol time like that. It's a damn tough life.
We can see the decline in education right here on this forum. Just notice the horrible grammar, sentence structure, word choices, spelling, and incorrect or missing punctuation, and failure to proofread. If a person can't handle the demands of proper English composition, how can the future be bright?
Then again you could have been born in China and be expected to work 996,from 9am to 9pm 6 days a week.
