The last time I checked, the Republican Party was the "conservative party". This party is supposed to be made up of people who believe in trickle-down economics. They believe that the economy works best when you leave it up to business and that's supposed to benefit EVERYONE in theory. The Republican Party is a "peaceful party". This is not a party of hate and is not the party that lunges out and verbally abuses somebody who doesn't agree with them. It's also not the party of racist quotes. The Republican Party is a peaceful party that just happens to disagree with you. This is the party of CLASSY PEOPLE - many of whom are very wise and successful.

Within the past few years, however, it seems like a bunch of people known as the Tea Party (and their cult supporters) have become the voice of the Republican Party. Many of these people are rude and are saying things that a person with CLASS would not say. What they've done is basically the equivalent of a bunch of undisciplined street kids taking over Harvard and making up the "new rules". I'm sure many people who have been in the Republican Party all their life are heartbroken by what's happening to the party they've always trusted in. CLASS has gone out the window and rudeness and hatred has taken over.

My message to these Tea Partiers is that the Republican Party IS NOT a platform they should use to spread their bizarre messages. If they can't say things in a CLASSY MANNER, maybe they should create a brand new political party. The actions of some of the Tea Partiers is severely tarnishing the image of the Republican Party and makes them look like a HATE GROUP. That's unacceptable and it's a crying shame.

I think it's the other way around. The tea party sounds great until they get all partisan. They shouldn't associate themselves with republicans because that makes them seem like crackpots.

I've met many Republicans in my lifetime and I've never seen anything like this. My parents are also registered Republicans.

There are many republicans who are good and wonderful people. Some are very intelligent. I've got republicans in my family as well.

But the current incarnation of the party is nuts. For the rich, against everyone else. That's their position and it's crazy. Commonplace, in America. But crazy.

Has The Tea Party Hijacked The Republican Party

....your (*)(*)(*)(*) right we have. We have had our fill of faux conservatives and Rinos.....as Nov. 2, 2010--The Largest Political Ass Whooping in History shows. Were going to be electing conservatives and libertarians and return this country to greatness......this is change you can believe in.

Democrat change you can believe in......means electing the same brain dead Democrats you have been electing for the last 40 years, and devouring all the excrement sandwhiches they serve........

The Tea Party was started in 2009 IMMEDIATELY after Obama was elected. Why do you think that is?

The Tea Party IS the Republican party, oh did we forget that it's conservatives who make up the bulk of the RNC? That it is CONSERVATIVE donors who fund the RNC?

See the thing is, without Conservatives, without that "tea party" there is no RNC.

Because Conservative Americans, IE: the bulk of the RNC, are fed up with Rhino's in the RNC, who are really nothing more than liberals in disquise, doing everything they can to see to it that the liberals and their political agenda is realized.

Instead of standing up for traditional Constitutional American values and morals.

I don't believe they're the same thing. Obviously, they've trying to make themselves the NEW Republican Party. That's what this thread is about.

Does that include running Democrats down in the most unsavory manner they can think of?

This thread is intended to bring up what's going on in this country. The last time I checked, the Republican Party was the party of "classy people". Racial slurs and suggesting that everyone who doesn't support them is a "loser in life" isn't very classy in my opinion. They're a disgrace to the REAL Republican Party.

Why was this group started IMMEDIATELY after Obama was elected? What was their motivation?

Good. Separate yourself from the Republican Party and you'll be just fine.

Gotta say seems the reverse to me; republicans hijacked the tea party. In the beginning the tea party was about small government, less taxes, people pissed at Bush and the neocon social 'conservatives'. I was looking like something I could get with. Those notions were quickly thrown away (just like in the republican party) as social "conservatives" came out in droves. They started screaming the same stuff as the rest of the neo-cons in the republican party and when they invited Sarah Palin as a guest speaker I knew the tea party was nothing more than an offshoot of insanity from the republican party. It's a shame to because they really do make the right wing look completely nuts. So far as I'm concerned the right just lost it after Bush and when Obama wins again, I mean sheer madness is coming.

Well it would be nice if you all would stop kicking them out just to put more in.

Thank you for confirming my suspicions. I knew there was a change in tone there. Everything in the initial thread seems to be true.

Yes, but you need to realize that most of this "hate mongering" is coming from Tea Party supporters. I don't consider the average Tea Partier to be a real Republican.

I'm not quite following this part. They're the party of suits and ties and socially exclusive religion.

Hmmm. So I have it backwards? That is possible.

What's the practical difference, so we can test the theory?
