White people have nothing to (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) about concerning discrimination. We've dominated this country since it's inception and that still has not changed. We are not a white nation either. We are a nation of all immigrants. So this 'omg, i'm becoming a minority' scare stuff and Afirmative Action hate is just...it's just ugly, to be frank. I know you guys don't see it like that, but you know what? I'm a white guy, I don't feel guilty but more or less embarrassed by the fact that white people have ruined this country they've ruled for so long. And it is definitely embarrassing.

So while you're over there with your D average highschool diploma and get passed over for a job for a black man with a college degree, keep shouting racism and see who gives a damn besides the crickets chirping gently in the distance...

Personal attacks do make a good debate. Furthermore, you information is inaccurate, my high school grades and ACT score were in the top 2%.
    You ASSUME way too much.

Additionally, you're trying to derail the Thread into something Personal about ME, the OP. This is against the forum rules. Trying to make an argument based on general, provable facts and governance principles, not assumed personal attacks.

You've taken on way to much indoctrinated White-Guilt. Well, that's your problem.

I am proud to be standing for the low-mid income whites who have for generations been denied an equal opportunity at success through higher education and good jobs because of our governments institutionalized racial discrimination.

I am joined by an ever growing number of White Americans, and not a small number of principled, and far-sighted non-White Americans.

That's the point of the OP.

The Democratic Party has become the home of nothing but Anti-White and Anti-Male Bigots, some of which seem to be in good supply on this forum.

They'll feel right at home in what the Democratic Party has morphed into, but without a large slice of the Working-White-Vote it cannot muster the votes to WIN.

The Democratic Party is Morphing itself into Obscurity.

I'm not anti-white and I'm not anti-male. I happen to be both, but I think that crying foul is a bit farfetched considering how many issues of racism by whites towards the growing population of people of color is basically what derails the OP. You can't cry foul when it exists deeply in white culture. This is a fact and until that deep seeded racism subsides to being mild, there's no room to talk. Like I said, we're all immigrants, yet white people with power (which is what Afirmative Action is targeting) will use their position to put forth their biggotry.

It's just one of those things that needs more time to heal and for a more educated public across the spectrum to mature so they aren't so succeptible to truth by repetition style of brainwashing.

It's really funny because this is literally the only place I've ever seen anything even remotely close to this stance on affirmative action and I'd like to consider myself far out of the mainstream in terms of news sources and political views. I will concede that AA hasn't affected me in the slightest in my 33 years. Not once.

If you're so absolutely convinced that AA discrimination damaging and outraging large numbers of White Males isn't occurring,...

If you're so all fired convince that AA has never created a problem for large numbers of voters...

Then WHAT are you so worried about?

If you're right, and there isn't a large voting base of very angry with AA voters out there, if it hasn't been creating huge injustice, then all of my statements about it costing the Dems the majority of the Working White Vote won't happen!

Why does this topic get you so excited and indignant?

Because most of the opinions and threads here aren't covering what I'm concerned about, sadly. I started a thread, just waiting to see if people want to talk about it. Until then, push button topics such as racism and right to choose, and other civil rights are interesting to waltz into. I'm not worried about you guys at all, frankly. I know I can't convince you guys to not sound like huge bigots. But it's definitely interesting interacting with you lot. I don't get the chance to do that so often.

    Sound like bigots how?

By stating that we want our nation's government to get out of the racial discrimination business, and go back to a formal government stance of race neutrality and race-blind treatment of ALL U.S. Citizens?

Is trying to re-focus the nation back onto Dr. King's Dream being a Bigot?

Its not what we are saying that is Bigoted, it is the other thing that you are somehow HEARING that is bigoted.

When the government was left out of the racism business, we had racism. When they stepped in, it shifted from being in your face slave owner and ride the back of the bus you black dude days to discrimination in jobs and schools. I don't see why it's such a big deal to demote the power of racism among people. AA may not be the best way about it, but it's better than the alternative of none at all.

FALSE! Democrats are non-supportive of White males whom the support discrimination against in affirmative action. In addition, Democrats' pro-immigration policies (designed to collect more votes for them) are a disaster to the American working class who remain at high unemployment rates, while Democrats invite immigrants into the country handing them work visas (invitations to jobs), and fail to enforce border security.

Yes! The Immigration issue has been, by the Left, complete Linked in American Political discourse with the AA and Race issue, which it should not have been.

You can be for American Minority Equality, and be Against unrestrained Immigration.

We all know that the Dems are doing it simply to import a new voting base to pander-by-race and so deenfrancise native born Americans.

This is the other side of the Race Betrayal that I had not addressed in the OP.

No it isn't, it's malicious racism against Whites, who have suffered immensely from it, and you are a racist for supporting it.

What percentage of whites did America have at its founding and how many say 100 years ago? I always thought it began with coloization from the Brits, who are white, then had mass white immigration and heavily favored westerners up until the last 60 years or so when the immigration act was changed.

More evidence of anti-White racism from you. So when Blacks are discriminated against you're all upset, but when Whites are discriminated against you think its a big joke. That's called HYPOCRISY.

I am racist...against white people...when I'm white? I fail to see your logic. It's funny you added 'malicious' as if there's 'good' racism. :)

    *sigh*

Please. Let's look at how silly THIS is.

This show is written and produced by two extremely white dudes. I'm a white dude who posted it. If anything, it's making fun of parroting stuff as a trend using the 'redneck stereotype' to put forth this point.

I feel like I just got trolled hard. Good play, sir!

Back in the late 1960s, when Affirmative Action was created, we could have, and should have made the benefits granted by AA based on a series of factors OTHER than Race:

1] Current level of Education Attainment
2] Average Income of Parents, based on filed income tax returns, over the young college students childhood.
3] Demonstrated dedication to academics in the high school years.
4] Clean Criminal Record of the young student.
5] Average income of the Neighbor hood the student lived in during High School.

These factors would have made the majority of recipients of AA come from African American and Latino households, BUT, others who were worthy and otherwise disenfranchised, would have qualified.

Additionally, wealthy "Designated Minority" students from foriegn countries would not be put ahead of U.S. born citizens.

The children of wealthy American born kids, such as Tiger Woods kids, would not qualify for assistance, where a low-income white student is denied any opportunity.

We could and should have accomplished the goals of AA without resorting to Government Institutionalized Racial Discrimination.

Wow, now you're sounding like a real human being, Mr. K. I take back my bigotry statement.

However, on this basis, it still would have allowed the prejudice to take place. Although, yes, minorities at the time were largely part of the lower class, if you had a several lower class people applying for a job, say, and were equal in every respect except for their race, you'd still have that prejudice.

And today, there are not Black CEO and Business Managers who discriminate Against White applicants?

There will ALWAYS be discrimination. It is part of human brain hard wired psychology, and it cannot be avoided.

But we don't lessen the discrimination by getting the Government into the business.

We lessen the Discrimination by setting the example of how to be race neutral and color blind by creating government assistance programs which do all possible to ignore race.

But that is NOT what the Obama Administration is doing! That is the Point of the OP of this Thread.

There are 26 separate Racial Preference provisions in the ObamaCare bill alone.

President Obama created a whole new cabinet level department dedicated to continuing racial preferences, without, I might add, the Constitutionally required advice and consent of Congress.

These are examples of why the Democratic Party is becoming a Party for ONLY Anti-white and Anti-Male Bigots!

They have no sense of the mood of the country and the fact that the era which accepted Racial Preferences, with its few positive outcomes, along with all of its wrongs, has come and gone!

The American People no longer want the Government in the Discrimination Business.

And the Democratic Party will pay a very heavy price for continuing to INCREASE Government Racial Discrimination when public opinion is dead set against it.

No, it's not funny that I added "malicious".. In some cases the word racism can simply mean paying attention to race without any positive or negative to it. "Malicious" makes it clear what the racism is. Not a big deal.

What is a big deal is that you support race-based affirmative action. That make you racist against Whites, and it doesn't matter what color you are.

I'd disagree with you there. Whether manufactured or real, there is still a strong feeling of this. One need not look further than to listen to floor arguments on the immigration bill. Republicans have said some of the following things about Mexicans this year (and in public, no less!):

“The average IQ of immigrants in the United States is substantially lower than that of the white native population, and the difference is likely to persist over several generations.” - Jason Richwine

. “I used to own — my father had a ranch. We used to hire 50 to 60 wetbacks to pick tomatoes. You know, it takes two people to pick the same tomatoes now.” - Don Young

"For every [DREAMer] who's a valedictorian, there's another 100 out there that weigh 130 pounds and they've got calves the size of cantaloupes because they're hauling 75 pounds of marijuana across the desert." - Steve King

    etc. etc.

These weren't even hard quotes to find. And this is not counting the extremely high number of very terrible sounding stuff that was broadcast live on CSPAN during the immigration reform bills.

Racism is alive and well today. Ignoring it doesn't make it disappear. It's something that has to be faced head on. Again, AA isn't the greatest thing on Earth to deal with discrimination and prejudice when it comes to daily business...but I stand by my statement that it's better than nothing.

So you can find examples of racist statements made by Republicans... Meh...

I can find dozens of worse anti-white Racist Statements made by Democrats,... but what's the point?

As I said in a post not to many back, Racism will ALWAYS be with U.S., it is hardwired into our brains.

Nor does the existence of Racism, both Anti-White, and Anti-Black and every other which direction, mean that the mood of the country has turned against government being in the Racial Preference Business!

What is the official policy platform of the Republican Party on Government Institutionalized Racial Discrimination?

What is the official policy platform of the Democratic Party on Government Institutionalized Racial Discrimination?

At least the Republican Party is officially trying to pursue Dr. King's Dream.

The Republicans may have a few errant members, but the Democrats have Many errant members, and its official party platform and legislative actions have been anything but race-blind!

And the Majority of the American People DO NOT WANT IT!

That is the point of the OP.

    From USNEWS:
    ---------------------
Although most Americans oppose affirmative action policies in college admissions, the poll found that the majority still supports affirmative action in general. A question asking respondents if they favored "affirmative action programs for racial minorities" showed that 58 percent in total agreed.

A slight majority of whites, about three-quarters of blacks and more than two-thirds of Hispanic respondents favored affirmative action programs more generally.

"Americans are not averse to having the government take steps to help improve the conditions of minority groups in the United States, and in a broad sense express support for affirmative action programs," the report says.
    ----------------------

You get partial credit. Not full credit, though. ;)

So the majority of Americans support racial discrimination, right now. Maybe that says we haven't come very far from the Jim Crow days of the 1950s. Only that the beneficiaries and victims have been switched. We're still a racist nation. Might as well still fly that Confederate flag. Wouldn't hardly matter.

I can show you a dozen polls that say they reject AA outright. Furthermore, the USNews poll is taking their "Analysis" of the poll out of context to create an impression that is not what the entirety of the poll reveals.

In most polls, allot of participants are so cowed by the "Race Card" that they answer "Unsure" to many of the questions:

    http://www.pollingreport.com/race.htm

That report actually shows the individual questions and the responses. Which is a much better way to report the Poll, than what the USNews ( now a Leftist Rag) has done.

They were reporting on a Gallup poll following the supreme court case of racial discrimination of a white woman at a Texas college. I'm not sure how reporting on a Gallup poll makes this particular story 'leftist'. As well, in order to get a real feel for this, the poll needs to equally represent ethnicities. I looked up two of those polls and stopped after that because the polls are overwhelmingly answered by white people. If you get enough angry white people answering the polls on race, it will definitely favor white people in some way. That's a given. One of the ones I chose at random to look up was the NBC poll. The respondents were
    White 74
    Black 12
    Asian 2
    Other 3
    Hispanic (VOL) 6
    Not sure/refused 3

Similar numbers showed up on other polls so apparently the only people really giving a care to this are indeed white people.

Honestly, I think it's really just split. I don't see evidence of overwhelming support for ending it. I do like your ideas about basing things on economic status as a replacement plan. However, I don't think it's as bad as you make it out to be.

I don't think this accurately represents the American people, as you presume. A 2008 Gallup poll
