I am at a complete loss of words on this move by the European Union. I mean come on, if water DOESN'T hydrate then what does? Motor oil? This example is a sign that things have gotten way out of hand in the UK as well as all of Europe. What's next? Are they going to claim Water is NOT wet?

EU officials concluded that, following a three-year investigation, there was no evidence to prove the previously undisputed fact.

Producers of bottled water are now forbidden by law from making the claim and will face a two-year jail sentence if they defy the edict, which comes into force in the UK next month.

What an absurd criticism of the EU.

Remove the beam from your own eye before criticizing others!

The USA demands a basis for health claims as well. Appropriately so.

In thsi case, there are a number of factors needed to be hydrated properly, which includes the proper electrolytes and other nutrients. And too much water can actually make your water balance worse, not better.

Dehydration even while chugging plenty of water has killed many people.
