    W00t!

    We're getting a second $1200!

    https://www.cnet.com/personal-finan...ecks-the-dates-the-second-payment-could-come/

    And it'll be coming JUST...

...too late for millions it would seem.

On Monday afternoon, Senate Republicans rolled out the much-anticipated HEALS Act, its proposal for the next economic rescue package that will include a second stimulus check for $1,200. That's assuming it passes as is, without any amendments or negotiation.

Debate, however, is expected. The HEALS Act is far more narrow than the rescue package proposed by the House of Representatives' Heroes Act (PDF) in May, which fizzled before the Senate, untouched. Only after negotiation that determines the particular, including the terms of qualifying for a new $1,200 payment can we even start to scope out when the IRS could send the next wave of checks.

We SHOULD have been getting these checks since April, with September marking the SIXTH check received by most Americans, but instead, it will be only the second.

Too late for evicted tenants and foreclosed upon homeowners.

Why has there been ZERO leadership?

Are we on the brink of a second Great Depression?

And most importantly, what will YOU be doing with your stimulus money???

In my case, purchasing inventory and supplies as with my first check, but with far greater trepidation than I spent the first payment.

Too little too late, or JUST enough to stave off disaster?

There is zero leadership because we didn’t elected a leader, we elected an internet troll
Doubt it will help much, but it’ll help some
I’ll probably just send mine right back to the IRS

You're of course referring to President Trump which is inappropriate in this instance as he has been on the record regularly calling for a second stimulus check and began doing so only shortly after people had started to receive the first one. The failing was in Congress, largely the Democrat controlled House.

I guess you must have forgotten, and since its been going on for so long I don't really blame you, but what happened just as the time came for the House to take up the matter of passing a second stimulus bill? That's right - another lefty cultivated race war broke out just in time for election season but not so timely for pandemic season. Dems were off the hook because everyone expected them to manage the BLM campaign events; riots, looting, arson, and what not, and the Repubs were off the hook because no one expected them to do anything but sit quiet in the corner afraid of being called "racist". So over the last ~2 months we've seen billions in property damage, more than a few lives lost, young belligerent progressives got to demonstrate exactly what life would be like under their control (CHAZ/CHOP), countless police and innocent people have been attacked by rampaging criminals, the terrorist group ANTIFA is surging as are some new black supremacy militias, and of course corporate America is getting super ultra rich selling the woke joke - but we didn't get a good stimulus bill now did we?

Rep Pelosi gave us what will go down as the single worst spending proposal in government history (US or otherwise), remember that abomination? I mean trying to cram in new green deal scams and vote schemes into a stimulus bill? Come one. And Sen McConnell, the nerve of this guy, thinking he can strong-arm the House into passing a business tax cut measure dressed up as a stimulus bill. These two are where your lack of leadership problem is. Each leads their chambers and each sucks at it. Pelosi only listens to the radical progressives (because they can too easily use their bully tactics to boot her from the Speaker's seat) and McConnell only listens to the biggest donor in whatever room hes in. Pres Trump put his support behind a second stimulus more than a few times and that's really the limit of what he can do. Because lets be honest if he tried to do anything but make a suggestion on this matter there would be no shortage of people (yourself included, I'd be willing to bet) who would be branding him a dictator for his efforts.

It's not just Trump; there's no leadership anywhere at any level.

His payroll tax holiday a TERRIBLE, Social Security destroying idea of course, so good to see that going nowhere.

If either side really cared about the stimulus checks they would stop trying to add in extra things, and they could simply pass a bill for stimulus checks, and Trump has been on the record repeatedly already supporting another round of stimulus checks.

As far as the handwringing about people not having rent money and so forth ---- thanks to the extra $600/wk unemployment bonus, a lot of people were making more during COVID unemployment than they were making working. But did they set aside the extra to use responsibly? In most cases "no". I'm really tired of bailing people out for their own irresponsibility.

Some reasonable comments, but Trump needs to back off the payroll tax holiday - that's a no-go and HORRIBLE idea aimed at defunding Social Security.

And the "handwringing" about people who are about to be homeless by the millions is EVERYONE'S problem now, and the result of a complete lack of leadership EVERYWHERE.

What kind of unrelated, agenda driven massive waste will Democrats attempt to insert into it this time?
