Don't want to toot my own horn :), but I guess my prediction was better than the OP's, who utterly failed with his premature victory dance regarding herd immunity. Will he admit his failed prediction? Of course not. That's why nobody should listen to Trumpers, who have been wrong on everything covid from day 1.

LOL! it must be Biden's fault. How original. it couldn't be the Trumpers who boo Trump at his rally when he urges them to get the vaccine? Oh, how quickly he backpedaled on this with his deflection to "freedom". It's like a whole segment of the US population has gone collectively mad.

I know 6 people personally who've had COVID themselves despite being vaccinated. I note that Fauci, who is responsible for killing 4+ million people now, stopped reporting breakthrough cases.

Hey, DR. Makary, how's this been working out?

    What a joke titles are.

He didn't expect that the widespread use of "vaccines" might help cause other variants that are vaccine resistant.

The use of vaccines did not cause Delta and sadly vaccine use is not widespread.

The world is big, it is not everything you see from your front door.

Aside from the fact you cannot prove that, it certainly looks suspicious. Phase 2 trials involving tens of thousands of folks were started in India in July, and in October/December, Delta was discovered. Same thing for Lambda in South America.

That's why we look at the whole world to see what is happening.

Gee, there's still some silly conspiracy theorist suggesting that the use of vaccines caused Delta? I have the person on Ignore but can imagine who it is, LOL

Delta's genome was first uploaded to GISAID (the agency that congregates variant data) precisely on October 5, 2020. Vaccination started in India on January 16, 2021, almost 3 and a half months later. Short of a time travel machine, the vaccines did not cause Delta.

Here, let me prove it to you all. I mean, it's long, and you'll want to look at it only if you have an interest in it, or if you don't believe me. Conspiracy theorists, stay away, because facts are not what you guys like and endorse. So what I'll say below is for those interested in facts.

    https://www.gisaid.org/phylodynamics/india/

Click on this link above, wait for the map to load, then scroll down a little to a diagram below the map, with a number of gray and green lines full of dots.

This is the GISAID Phylogeny tree. There are clade lines from October 6, 2020 (the day after the report, they branched out that line) but they are more complicated for lay people as they go by mutations so instead I'll show you a dot report from 11/21/2021, when the variant had already been classified and had received a Pangolin LIneage number (that's not the animal, that's the name of a system of classification of variants). That will do, for the point I want to make.

See a number of green straight lines vertical and horizontal (those are clade lines) a bit up right from center of this three? You see an isolated red dot there. It is a bit up from two smaller yellow dots that are one row down and a bit to the right of it; found it? To make it easier, here is a screen shot zooming to the region of the three I'm talking about, with the red dot and the two yellow ones. Locate this region on the tree. Like I said, it's a bit northeast of center.

OK, now put your cursor on top of that red dot (there at the web page I linked to, not here at this screenshot)

You'll see that a pop up report will come up, with the title hCoV-19/India/ etc. See the third line below the title, Pangolin Lineage: B.1.617-2. That's the Delta variant. You can look up this Pangolin Lineage number in any search engine and it will tell you that it's the Delta. If you doubt me, do look at the title of this article in the New England Journal of Medicine:

    https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/nejmoa2108891

Back to the GISAID database. Put your cursor on the red dot again.

Three lines down from the Pangolin lineage number, you see Collection Date: 11/21/2020 (expressed as 2020-11-21). Reported by Banaras Hindu University.

OK, so, this is PROOF that the Delta variant was alive and well (and by then, dully assigned a lineage number) in India on 11/21/2020 (actually like I said it was uploaded since 10/5/2021 but it's easier to actually see the Pangolin Lineage number mentioned from a posterior dot report instead of the clades with the mutation regions which you guys wouldn't understand, and before the number was assigned).

Now, look at this article from a local Indian newspaper about the start of vaccination in India on January 16, 2021:

    https://www.thehindu.com/news/natio...ccination-drive-on-jan-16/article33536670.ece

You can see this confirmed by Wikipedia too, if you care for Wikipedia:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COVID...al_approvals,_launch_of_vaccination_programme

On this article, click on 2.1, "Initial approvals, launch of vaccination programme."

Look at the third paragraph. "India began its vaccination programme on 16 January 2021, operating 3,006 vaccination centres on the onset."

You'll confirm once more that it started on January 16, 2021. Months AFTER the variant had already been spotted and reported to GISAID. As a matter of fact, usually variants are circulating widely before they get spotted, so Delta was there even before the dates I mentioned above, but anyway, I just wanted to give you PROOF of an earlier date with the presence of Delta, before vaccination started.

Do you want an American source? It's on the CDC website too but I guess you don't trust the CDC. What about a state government? Here, Wisconsin.

    https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/covid-19/variants-info.htm
    • The Delta variant, B.1.617.2, was first discovered in India in samples in October 2020.
So, come again, conspiracy theorists??? How in the hell did the vaccine cause Delta? Is a time travel machine actually operational and I somehow missed it? LOL

I'll quote my own post for purposes of updating it. That post was Aug 23rd. As of today, September 8th, I now know 13 people who have had COVID who were vaccinated.

In Israel, Iceland, Italy, India and other places, more injections are followed by more infections.

I've seen numbers as low as 25%. But don't worry, we will all be infected with some form of covid at some point in time.

For those who knowingly/unknowingly recovered from Covid, no one knows how long immunity will last.

Many unwise posters on this site have been proven wrong more than once, for example; “Sweden will achieve herd immunity by the end of May 2020”

Also, no one knew about the ferocity of the Delta Variant “IN THE U.S.”.

IMO, Covid will eventually become like the flu, however, seasonal or all seasons? I don’t know, but we certainly haven’t achieved herd immunity with the Flu.

it would be funny if it weren't so sad. My home state of NM has infection rates soaring despite being one of the most vaccinated states in the union. We're all being gaslighted.

How many died? I know four unvaccinated people who died from Covid, I know of no vaccinated people who have died from Covid

And there is hospital data showing that for the under. 50s the vaccine has reduced hospitalisation and deaths of the vaccinated by over 80% when compared to the unvaccinated

    For your info;

NM Covid Hospitalized patients, 400, per 1 M Pop; 200

Texas Covid Hospitalized patients, 13,422, per 1 M pop; 448

    .........

NM Covid Daily Cases 7-day Rolling Average: 554, per 1M pop; 277

Texas Covid Daily Cases 7-Day Rolling Average; 17,404, per 1M pop; 580

    ..........

NM Covid Daily Deaths 7 day Rolling Average; 7, per 1M pop; 3.5

Texas Covid Daily Deaths 7-Day Rolling Average, 260, per 1M pop; 8.6

Per 1M pop, Texas Covid problems = NM’s Covid problems TIMES TWO.

    ...........

NM fully vaccination rate; 61.2%, One dose, 71%

Texas fully vaccination rate; 48.9%, One dose, 58.3%

    .............

CONCLUSION; Higher the vaccination rates, lower the number of Hospital admissions, and deaths.
