Why the suspended sentence? So what if he has children? I would hope to god they aren't left in his custody after this.
Indeed, even if the sentence were not suspended, it was far too light. 40 weeks for child molestation? WTF? And that was for FIVE different charges. So each sex crime got him 2 months, which he didn't even have to serve. And that's what the UK does to those found guilty!
I'm not convinced such a sentence for this kind of offence is so unusual and suspending sentences for the kind of reasons give certainly isn't. That doesn't necessarily make it right but it does mean it would need to be addressed in a very different manner. Child molesters should be removed from where they can do harm for long periods of time- if convicted there should be long prison terms. Another tragic case of child molestation.
