Should I fix my dripping faucet (right side, cold water)? It leaks one quart per hour; one gallon in four hours; six gallons a day; 180 gallons a month (45 cents). I would have to drive to a plumbing parts store; burn a gallon of gasoline (ethanol-free. $4.08. 2012 Mustang) buy a new stem assembly ($7.50) and install it. Travel time, waiting around and installing it -- two hours (if I don't get in over my head and flood the whole neighborhood). Would it be more trouble than it's worth? Pros Cons Thanks ... nom de plume
I am guessing you refer to "Greenies" because you think the environmentally conscious for some reason actually give a fying fluck about your faucet....when in fact we do not. If you do not have the ability, motivation, or intellect required to do the math and fix a leak....chances are neither of your imaginary friends would either.
Don't you know that all you need to fix a leaky faucet is spinach? Pft! I thought everyone knew this! you forgot to consider the damage to the basin from the drip. if it's enamel, you can kiss a couple of C-notes goodbye.
