Nah, conservatives would much rather close our borders, forbid any of our doctors to go overseas and go to war with the afflicted nations, oh, and jail any of our people who get something anyway.

Great, so your going to pay to vaccinate everyone living in Africa and South/Central America?

Interesting idea. How much would it cost? Versus, of course, how much not doing it would cost.

Nah, socialism is definitely not the answer, much to the dismay of radical far-leftists.

Is capitalism incapable of arranging for universal health care? Socialism is the only way to achieve it?

Duncan's ability to just go to a local hospital for free care didn't save him. He exposed a lot of people in the process.

So they don't HAVE to go to the doctor, then.

Well yeah. Taking money from this person to give to that person is socialism, and that's essentially what universal health care is. Just another left-wing wealth redistribution channel.

He was turned away due to lack of insurance. That might have had something to do with it.

No he wasn't. Health care centers are not allowed by law to turn someone away simply for an inability to pay.

So which would you rather have? Capitalism according to your exclusionary principles, or protection from disease outbreaks?

Totally willing to close borders and quarantine people to stop outbreaks ... but sharing? Nah, we can't have sharing. That's for little children.

Seriously, you don't think that universal health care is possible under capitalism? What if it's done voluntarily? Some sort of medical union, say.

Nevertheless, they did just send him home. With some antibiotics, right?

I don't mind sharing as long as its voluntarily and built around a nationalist platform. We don't have that. We have a country being torn apart by invading cultures and people's, stealing the wealth and strength the country built up over time.

They didn't know he had Ebola. When someone has a fever, it's not a very common suspicion compared to say, a common cold.

Hmmm. Explain more, please. National-platform sharing ... that has a familiar ring to it, somehow. Go on.

    Said the Native Americans.

Unless he's from Liberia and he just carried a pregnant woman (who also got turned away by the local hospitals) who was dying of Ebola and bleeding at the time (which is one of the only ways you can get it). Then, I think it's a reasonable suspicion. Call me crazy.

"Well, we gave the white people the proper medicine ... just give the black guy some antibiotics and send him home."

That would probably be less expensive that that one patient in Dallas is going to cost us. Besides that, there is no Ebola vaccine.

Cutting off Africa from the outside world would be a lot cheaper than providing UHC for a continent. Just hypothetically saying.

A BETTER idea would be EU providing UHC for Africa, since hey, its THEIR neighbor and they alreayd know how to do it. They don't have enough money you say? Yeah, thought so.
