HGTV - Hated by Husbands Everywhere

Some husbands may enjoy the endless list of projects HGTV inspires, but after some discussion with other husbands, and former husbands like me [I thought I was the only one], it turns out other men get sick of the relentless onslaught of wife projects and spending inspired by this stupid show, just like I did. It even played in role in ruining my marriage. I can hear the anger and frustration that I felt, in the voices of other men.

Women love to watch it. And most women can't watch it without wanting to spend money and create work for their husbands.

If you are a woman, watch this show, and love your husband, quit watching it or hire a slave...and take out another job to pay for it.

 

I had that marriage once. Now its totally different.

Good women are out there, but admittedly rare.

 

Are you saying that women that want home improvements are not "good" women?

 

No, they can be great women. My wife has a good job and came to me saying we should go totally solar in the house. She explained that the monthly outlay would be about the same for the loan to to pay for the solar as our monthly electric bill was and we would be building equity at the same time. It would also make sure we had no brownouts or blackouts, as people predict. I thought it was a great idea, so we had it installed. It was a great decision'

She also paid for the whole thing.

I fully support women who are interested in home improvements. I think they are wonderful. BTW, this home improvement is only ONE of the MANY reasons I think my wife is wonderful.

I think you are confusing women who seek to better their marriage by viewing themselves as part of a team with their husband and families... and nasty nagging wives that constantly demand this and that from their husbands. Apples and oranges.

 

There is also the problem of never being happy with what they have. It reminds of me skinny models who look perfect making other women and esp young women feel they are never good enough. So they end up with eating disorders and spending a fortune on beauty products in the relentless pursuit of more more more. Same thing, just switch the home and garden with bodies.

 

If they would just get addicted to porn instead of gardens, like their husbands do, everyone would be happy.
