You're misreading my post. Unless Nieto had previously said that he would not renegotiate any portion of NAFTA, his being open to it was not a concession to Donald Trump.

Oh, so the timing and the topic had nothing to do with Trump? Nieto is reaching out because Trump spurred this issue. Nieto knows he has to deal with this and better to get out in front. Had Nieto pushed the issue of renegotiation before Trump started speaking out about it, I'd put Trump in the back seat. Nieto is clearing signaling, something he wouldn't do if the topic wasn't so hot.

Donald Trump is the reason that anyone is talking about renegotiating NAFTA, but you have not proven that he is the reason that Nieto is open to it. Unless you can prove that Nieto has given any ground on this issue, you cannot claim it as a victory for Trump.

Anyone includes Nieto. Trump, as you say, is the reason anyone is talking about it. Nieto is talking about it and is open to more discussion. He is ready to negotiate, which is all about give and take. This is early stage stuff. Proof that this is a win for Trump is the fact, as you put it, anyone, including Nieto, is talking about it. Nieto is even talking in terms of negotiating. Pretty cool.

You can claim this as a victory for Trump as soon as you are able to prove that Nieto would not have agreed to negotiate with someone like Obama, but is open to negotiating with Trump because of his hardline rhetoric.

Nieto's willingness to discuss at this time, as you have already admitted, is due to Trump. I agree with you on this. And that is a win for Trump. Trump has rallied a country and Nieto is smart enough to know that he had better get out in front of this. That is a win for Trump. He has entered negotiations willingly and invited both candidates to visit. Great idea on his part.

Whomever wins the election, Nieto will deal with them. You seem to think that for me to call this a win for Trump, Nieto must only agree to deal with Trump. That is foolish. I define this a win because Trump started all of this and Nieto, standing on stage next to Trump, said that he is open to negotiations. Trump initiated all of this. Big win.

Hillary won't meet with anyone it appears. Can we at least have a proof of life appearance from her?

Likely, HillBill felt no need to interrupt her U.S Presidential campaign to pander to Mexico, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Germany, France, or any other outside nation. Trump decided to do so in an attempt to somehow help his campaign and it completely backfired. He was called out for lying by Mexicos President and somehow managed to make Mexicans hate him even more than they already did....quite a feat.

What's interesting about that Mexico visit of Trump's, is that the press conference dealt with two people who maintain high unfavorability numbers. Nieto is highly disliked in Mexico, Trump is highly disliked in America (for good reason), both were meeting to hopefully boost their favorability numbers. In the end, it backfired more than it propelled either person. If Trump scored so well with Hispanics, how come you know, so many Latinos have backed away from issuing support for Trump?

By the way, Clinton met with Nieto in 2014. And its not like she would play a visit out again.

Why hasn't Trump disclosed how he'll pay for the wall? Not the fairy tale notion that Mexico will, both the current and ex-presidents of Mexico have ruled that out. That's off the table.

The polls show a different outcome. He wouldn't be closing the gap, and in some polls passing her, if it had backfired.

Oh wahhhh, the liberal media. Wahhhh. Get a tissue. No one in their right mind thought that meeting was anything but a stupid photo op. It accomplished nothing.

I recommend you continue to believe as you do and make such claims until November.......I certainly worked wonders for Romney folks.
